Manti Te'o : Kekua Hoax Not His Doing


Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o insisted he had no role in the bizarre hoax involving his "dead" girlfriend and told ESPN on Friday night that he was duped by a person who has since apologized to him.

In an off-camera interview with ESPN, Te'o said Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, a 22-year-old acquaintance who lives in California, contacted him two days ago and confessed to the prank. Deadspin.com first exposed the scheme on Wednesday and indicated Tuiasosopo was involved in it.

"I wasn't faking it," ESPN quoted Te'o as saying during the 2 1-2 hour interview. "I wasn't part of this. When they hear the facts they'll know. They'll know there is no way I could be a part of this."

Because I'm such a strong believer in the good of people, I am leaning towards believing him(I've been leaning that way the whole time).



Maybe I'm as gullible as he is(or claims to be), but oh well.

Never has there been a sports story that has gotten this much attention and I could not care less about.

He lied about having a dead girlfriend to gain sympathy from Heisman voters, end of story, let's move on.

I don't buy that as an explanation. If he made her up, he lied about her (and her death) long before anyone dreamed he'd be a Heisman candidate. Of course, once his campaign started, it was milked for all it was worth.

THIS. There's no doubt he (and ND) milked it, but he wasn't even on anyone's list for a Heisman until well afterwards.

lol @ let's move on. that doesn't sound like a big deal to you? that's pretty serious. and

sports stories have been blown up for more minor offenses than this. i hope it gets dragged on. it's also a lesson in journalism and fact-checking. and it should teach sports writers to ditch these fucking sob stories and heroic athlete storylines crap.

what kind of elevex? i'm getting 2 drug hits. One with timolol and the other with tadalafil. Tadalafil (Cialis) is indicated for erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia or tadalafil (AdCirca) is indicated for pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Timolol is indicated for hypertension, prevention of heart attack, and prevention of migraine headaches. Unlabelled uses include ventricular arrhythmias, essential tremor, and anxiety.

So basically, I'm not of much help. I hope he's not cheating on her.

It's a beta blocker, used for heart conditions and also glaucoma. It's not a penis plumper and would not play into aiding in cheating.

People need to download Dan LeBatard's show from the 17th Jan (on i-tunes look em up), he nails the whole perspective on this story pretty well.

Ok but even if he believed it, it doesn't explain why he never made an attempt to see her in the flesh. That's where the story falls apart to me. What guy isn't going to try and hook up and finger bang the love of his life. And then when she got sick and his voice was supposedly the thing that raised her heart rate, why not see her then? He would have to fly right through California to get home.

This sounds like even bigger bullshit that he didn't know. His story either way makes him seem like the biggest fucking tool and asshole. It never crossed your mind to visit her? It was never a 4 year relationship?. you basically lied about everything anyway even if you thought her death was true? It almost makes al of it even worse to attempt to come clean like this. Oh I knew nothing I just totally lied from jump to everyone and made no bones to see this girl I dated on and off not seriously and then told everyone she was the love of my life and had my parents convinced we might marry one day?

ok buddy. I wouldn't even wish you on the Jets. I hope for sure your stock plummets and you get picked like 3th round if that.
