Yeah really how would you tell someone you love they reek like B.o?

'Kourtney stinks of B.O.!': Scott Disick laments his earth mother girlfriend's decision to give up deodorant while breastfeeding
By IONA KIRBY

kourtk

Kourtney Kardashian has turned earth mother and only uses natural products and remedies.
But one thing her nearest and dearest aren’t too happy about is her decision to ditch the deodorant.
Khloe confronts Kourtney’s partner Scott Disick about the way her sister smells during a preview clip from the new season of Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.

‘Do you notice that there’s a little something with Kourt?’ Khloe asks as they enjoy a peaceful spot of repose on the balcony. ‘Like, the BO?’
Scott immediately agrees: ‘Yeah, she reeks.’
He explains the smell is just a result of Kourtney’s bid to stay all natural.
‘Only because she doesn’t believe in wearing deodorant because she thinks it’s bad for her breastfeeding or something,’ Scott says, which is met by a scream from Khloe.

Blunt as always: Kourtney's sister Khloe broached the subject and asked Scott if he has noticed 'the BO'
‘It’s uncomfortable,’ Scott admits. ‘You don’t want to tell somebody you love that they stink.’
But Khloe takes a typically blunt approach to the matter and says: ‘I just think, a little dab will do ya.’
Khloe tells the cameras: ‘I’m not surprised that Scott knows. I got a whiff of her, and everyone should know. Typically I would tell Kourtney that she stinks, but Kourtney has a lot going on.

ohsofierce_x3 18th-Jan-2013 11:13 pm (UTC)

melissa_ivory 18th-Jan-2013 11:24 pm (UTC)
I've heard great things about stainless steel soap, but brand names don't matter from what I've found out.
tigirah 18th-Jan-2013 11:29 pm (UTC)
I use this and it smells heavenly

crazy_in_lost 18th-Jan-2013 11:30 pm (UTC)
Crystal! If you get it remember to get the liquid because the stick requires you to wet it in order to use.
perfecthorror 18th-Jan-2013 11:38 pm (UTC)
I use The Greeench from Lush. It kind of smells like poultry seasoning at first but it's not noticeable once it's on.
I used Tom's last summer and it made my armpits burn and turn red and my pit skin started to PEEL. I will never use Tom's again.
ultra_obscene84 19th-Jan-2013 07:01 am (UTC)
Princess Ameerah is so fierce in your icon.

Tom's is the worst. It made me smell worse and it burned my armpits (WTF?).
leviicorpus 18th-Jan-2013 11:10 pm (UTC)
Gag. I can handle a lot of nasty, but I draw the line at B.O.
unclecraig 18th-Jan-2013 11:10 pm (UTC)
WHAT how can you be uncomfortable telling your babymama/gf of several years that she smells? I wouldn't hesitate telling my bf of two years, but I'm kind of a bitch sometimes, oop.
revertigo 18th-Jan-2013 11:11 pm (UTC)
he'd rather tell a reporter than her, in private
unclecraig 18th-Jan-2013 11:18 pm (UTC)
it would be ridic if this show wasn't so fake
aubade_saudade 18th-Jan-2013 11:18 pm (UTC)

strwbrri_shrtck 19th-Jan-2013 01:49 am (UTC)

chandyland11 18th-Jan-2013 11:12 pm (UTC)
...Does deodorant really have a negative effect on breastfeeding? That sounds like bullshit to me but I have no experience with breastfeeding, so...
etherdepository 18th-Jan-2013 11:17 pm (UTC)
There shouldn't be? Maybe Kourtney is be a little overzealous of BFing...
likeparenthesis 18th-Jan-2013 11:22 pm (UTC)
I think it's just because deodorant can have harmful chemicals in general.
saturdaysinbed 18th-Jan-2013 11:24 pm (UTC)
deodorant in general is actually kind of bad for you with the chemicals and the way it blocks up your sweat glands but it depends on your body
tigermilk 18th-Jan-2013 11:38 pm (UTC)
I totally went the other way on this. Everyone's thinking about chemicals and I just remember how careful I was with the last little girl I nannied for when it came to strong smells, so I'm imagining that the strong scent of the deodorant would irritate a tiny nose so close to it.
dinkydo 19th-Jan-2013 12:17 am (UTC)
I wear unscented deodorants because I don't want to smell like my deodorant, I want to smell like my perfume. (And I don't want it to infere with the perfume). I remember people saying to me in high school "you always smell like baby powder!" as a compliment, but it was my deodorant and I cut that shit out.
uwannalala 19th-Jan-2013 12:49 am (UTC)
not unless your a wacko who believes in crazy theories.
silverstarry 19th-Jan-2013 03:31 am (UTC)
I'm not 100% sure about the connection between deodorant and breast feeding, but there have been studies that showed the chemicals in sunscreen were found in breast milk (meaning the mothers used sunscreen on their skin and then the chemicals showed up in their breast milk).

Anti-perspirants contain aluminum which has been linked to Alzheimers. Even for a non-breastfeeding woman, it's worth thinking about whether you want to absorb aluminum into your skin every single day. But for a breastfeeding mom, it can be concerning to think that you are exposing your child to aluminum at such a young age.

Anti-perspirants keep you from sweating so when you stop using them, your pores start pushing out all the crap that's been clogged in there. A lot of people say that for the first few weeks, they stink like crazy because they're sweating so much, but after that they don't smell at all. I guess it's some kind of detox effect.

Sweating is actually good for you and you only stink once the sweat starts to form bacteria. If you use products that absorb the sweat or prevent bacteria from forming, you won't stink. Coconut oil is antibacterial and arrowroot powder absorbs moisture, so it's AWESOME.

When I made the switch, I made my poor husband smell me every single day to make sure I didn't stink.
evawhimsy 22nd-Jan-2013 06:13 pm (UTC)
breast cancer has been found to occur more often closer to the area where you apply deodorant. not conclusive, but the study's results were interesting.
grammaire 18th-Jan-2013 11:12 pm (UTC)
That's ...disgusting.
mblaq_joon 18th-Jan-2013 11:12 pm (UTC)
Kinda OT but how come Scott still hasn't asked her to marry him? :/ I could've sworn they were going to get married the last time I watching Keeping with the Kardashians...
oracularist 18th-Jan-2013 11:15 pm (UTC)
Aren't they engaged now? And I think he's asked her a couple times before the actual yes
saturdaysinbed 18th-Jan-2013 11:24 pm (UTC)
i think he has a few times she just has no interest in getting married at all
pikapika217 18th-Jan-2013 11:40 pm (UTC)
he did, she said no & that she was happy how they were and crushed his little heart
oceanhue 19th-Jan-2013 01:33 am (UTC)
She keeps saying no
ohsofierce_x3 18th-Jan-2013 11:13 pm (UTC)
I am sure there are probably natural deodorants that aren't particularly harmful. And Kourtney probably eats well anyhow... but if someone's funky, especially someone that you know and love, you should be a good friend and say something.
sandstorm 18th-Jan-2013 11:14 pm (UTC)
Yep. Friends shouldn't let friends be foul.

Nasty.
shining_starsxx 18th-Jan-2013 11:16 pm (UTC)
I don't know anything about breast-feeding so correct me if I'm wrong but.....Couldn't she used anti-bacterial soap and aluminum free baking soda?
angelmonster 18th-Jan-2013 11:25 pm (UTC)
She could use alcohol, it works well. Even rock salt as long as the baby isn't sucking on he rpit.
bluepassiflora 19th-Jan-2013 02:55 am (UTC)
Anti-bacterial soap is bad.
likeparenthesis 18th-Jan-2013 11:18 pm (UTC)
She has enough $$$ to buy a deoderant that uses natural ingredients.

I saw a few diy recipes on pinterest I wanted to try but if it's worth all of the effort...
