off topic but i had a friend who made a status saying they agree with obama's assault ban initiative and someone else made the "the people with guns will just be bad people now! criminals will get a hold of them anyway!" and i was like "wait so you're saying we should legalize narcotics because people will get them anyway? how is that any different?" after she said that "well it works in other countries i don't know maybe" to make herself seem less dumb, i basically said "ok then. well i don't understand the opinion you have on gun control, but that's your opinion and i guess we'll just agree to disagree"
and her husband (my husband's former best friend) jumped saying "what don't you understand" and i literally said "her opinion is so far opposite from my own that i literally don't understand how someone could have it. i get the points, they're valid and there are good points to debate and be checked on my own side of the fence, but i just disagree."
and this was what he replied with
