right before christmas this guy here in chicago went on the roof of a hotel to take some pictures and somehow fell into the chimney. he had his phone with him and was able to text his gf the whole time, but by the time the guy got out and sent to the hospital he died

I worked from home yesterday on a beast of a project and marathoned Alias.

I hated Metro sfm when I lived in DC. Great to know it hasn't gotten any better -_-

my life has gotten sooo much better since I switched from taking the metro to work everyday to the bus. the circulator has become my BFF.

i watched season 1 luther last night finally and LOVED IT. if you're interested in homeland and elementary it would probably appeal to you. tbh i thought it started off kinda slow but then episode 4 was amazing and then episodes 5 and 6 were like two of the best episodes of television i've ever watched.

homeland and elementary are next on my to-watch list, i've seen one ep of each and they're promising, although elementary is a bit too much of a standard procedural for my taste.

I saw pictures of that on NBC4 D: My dad used to work for Metro (my mom still does) and they just shook their heads.

Ask around and see if someone still has time on theirs at school a lot of the time the code lasts for longer than a semester. Hopefully it's only for practice because otherwise it'll be in their name.

blehhhh 2 of my classes did this and i couldn't find a way around it, because sometimes even old codes are only one time access so you can't always find them from someone else. it's like as soon as we finally can get cheap books they try to fuck us over some more!

I found most of my textbooks online for free too (torrents, etc) or I buy the cheapest good version on Amazon. I was a textbook troll unless it was one of those fucking asshole textbooks that you had to buy the brand new version for $200. But then you could sell them USUALLY back for almost full price.

i don't think my mom ever kissed us kids on the mouth while we were growing up, but my dad would kiss my sister and i on the mouth until we were like 10, and then he stopped. i never saw it as gross.

It's totally dependent on the family. Tbh I kiss my dad, my mom, my sister and my brother on the mouth. *shrug* I did notice a time when my dad stopped kissing me on the mouth, probably thinking I wouldn't be comfortable, but it in fact made me feel a little bad that things had to change/he would think that would bother me. I'm the only child left at home and I kiss my parents goodnight almost daily, so that kinda gives you a picture of how normal it is for us. My sister is probably the least demonstrative of us all and even she kisses my parents and us siblings once if she comes to visit

I mean, it's just a little peck, it's how we show affection. Of course, I have realized in the past five years that my family is surprisingly affectionate with each other. Which is funny because we aren't necessarily that openly affectionate with people outside of our family LOL

(oh and we're brown, if anyone cares about culture and stuff. but we are so totally not like other brown people we know lol)

I've always given my Dad a peck on the lips when we say goodbye or whatever. I never thought it was weird until a couple years ago when a friend was over when my Dad stopped by and she observed it. She made fun of me for the rest of the day. :\

I don't kiss my Mom on the mouth though. We don't have a really huggy affectionate relationship like I do with my Dad. Not that I have a bad relationship with my Mom or anything, we just express ourselves to each other differently.

It honestly depends on the relationship you have with your parents. I couldn't imagine kissing either my mother or father on the lips.

That happened with my dad. He made a wish list for his wife to buy from for Christmas. So, I emailed her and was like "What are you getting from the list?" to avoid duplicates and she said she wasn't buying from the list. I thought that was kind of shitty.
