Brit, bey, Justin, Etc. - Don't Expect Too Much EDM

Feel like JT's new single wasn't worth the six year wait? Then you may be in for a rude awakening when it comes to major releases this year. While there's no doubt we'll get a handful of dance singles here and there, it looks like some of pop's biggest names are looking to release more R&B inspired jams or urban club hits.

I'm all for something other than EDM, just not R&B.

I don't get why some people want it back so much. 90's R&B was amazing because most of it mixed R&B with pop (kinda like what Adele and others did with Soul/Indie Rock) but this new R&B shit is terrible and boring.

NOPE @ you co-signing Adele & Co.'s boring-as-fuck blue-eyed soul while throwing brilliant actual Soul/R&B artists like Miguel, Dawn Richard, Brandy, Frank, Elle Varner, Janelle, Beyonce, Maxwell, D'Angelo, etc. under the bus.

Like two of the people you mentioned actually have done anything noteworthy....

And some R&B is still good but most of it like JT's new single and "Nuclear" is horrible and that seems to be the kind this article is alluding to.

Whatever your opinion on it is, it doesn't matter. It mixed soul with pop melodies and slayed because of it.

I'm actually really glad Justin didn't release a EDM track. Lbr, he started that trend (along with Gwen Stefani)... I respect him wanting to produce music that he enjoys rather than appealing to the masses.

britneys music has sucked for years now. i love her for all the good reasons, but IDGI. I am only 24 years old, I shouldn't feel "too old" for this type of music. It's fuckin' trash is what it is.

I love brit but I am feeling so ambivalent on her new album. I want an album that is either legit good and different than what everyone else in pop is doing, or I want an album I can work out to (ie EDM, even if it's generic)
