My best advice for the GRE is to start preparing at least a few months before your test date, and to study a little bit every day/week . Even if you don't go to any of the study sessions, there are a few study prep books that really help. It's not so much what you know (though you should definitely review vocab and basic math), but learning how to take the GRE and what tricks they use to confuse you. I didn't give myself enough time to prepare so I didn't do as well as I hoped.

There are people who can take it blind and do well, but I'm not one of them!
