Thank God It's Not Dereon


Beyoncé Knowles is rumoured to be the new face of H&M.

Reports that the 31-year-old singer will front the Swedish brand's new campaign first surfaced last week when Beyonce was snapped wearing tropical-printed swimwear on, what is thought to be, a shoot for the high street giant.

Further fuelling the rumours, one of the star's dancers Kimberly Gipson then tweeted: "First day of trial in the Bahamas! H&M all set … go." However, the post was deleted shortly afterwards.

While H&M have not commented on the rumours, reports in June 2012 that Lana Del Rey was the brand's new campaign star were only confirmed a month after speculation first surfaced.

If Beyoncé is to front a campaign for the high street favourite, the Love On Top hitmaker will join such famous faces as David Beckham, Gisele Bundchen and Jerry Hall.

eh it's not the best quality but i feel like the price point reflects that? like not everyone can afford to 'invest' in high qual clothing or even wants to but still wants to look somewhat fashionable and good. h&m fulfills a need. i like them.

They make a lot of shit (both in terms of product quality and some of their more 'out there' designs) but they have good everyday essentials for cheap

she hasn't done them very recently. it seemed like she was moving away frm that.

and i didn't say anything about her being a new mom, i actually forgot about her alien offspring looking at those pictures tbh. and she doesn't need to be half-naked in a men's magazine to show that she's happy, she looks pretty happy every time she steps outside

IA. There are very few celeb women for whom male-gaze photoshoots aren't almost a requirement for their careers. Beyoncé is one of them. It would have been nice if she hadn't done it.

I understand what you're talking about. There's more than one way to do a ~sexy~ photoshoot. You can give off a 'I'm your fabulous, flawless queen, be thankful I'm letting you observe my majestic body, peasants' message in super skimpy underwear too, it all depends on the setting, styling and posing. However her recent one is more of photoshoot that a young, relatively unknown starlet would do, with a much bigger amount of objectification and overall writhing around. I guess they were shooting for 'young and playfull', but landed on 'do you like my panties, daddy?'. And inb4 Bey fans jump on me - NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT, but clearly this is not an image Beyonce has been projecting lately. She and her team are very thoroughly and consistently pushing regal and fabulous, and this shoot sort of falls out of line.
