Britney Spears still believes in "love" – at least when it comes to wearing it.
The pop star, 31 – whose failed engagement to Jason Trawick, 41, was announced on Friday – grabbed coffee in L.A. on Monday, sporting a black and white sweatshirt with the four-letter word displayed in large letters across the front.
The former X Factor judge looked casual, wearing shades and her hair in a ponytail.
Once the split was official, a source told PEOPLE, "Britney had a lot of issues with Jason doing his own thing – in business and seeing his friends. In her perfect world he would have been home with her twenty-four/seven, so that was a point of contention; something they were always working on."
But she didn't seem too bent out of shape when she made her outing and grabbed two drinks to go, as she wore a happy grin the whole time.

Britney Spears 'Secures £100 Million Las Vegas Residency'
Britney Spears is said to have already secured a one-year deal to begin a residency in Las Vegas this year, earning the singer £100 million.
The deal is said to have came into fruition over the last few weeks as Britney resigned from her role as a judge on X Factor USA after just a year on the show.
Reports emerged soon after that Britney has been involved in talks with Vegas' five-star hotel Ceasar's Palace to sign a deal to perform at the venue for an 80-date run over the next year, with TMZ claiming Britney was "on the cusp" of signing on the dotted line.
The website reports that Britney's deal comes with many perks, with the star allowed two or three nights off per week and free run of a penthouse suite at the hotel, however, a clause allegedly states that the 31-year-old will have to complete a certain amount of shows across two years to get paid the full $100 million.
Even if Britney only commits to the one-year residency, she can still take home a tidy £625,000.
Meanwhile, an insider says Britney has wanted to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Celine Dion for a while and now feels free following her split from fiance Jason Trawick and X Factor USA.
"This offer has been on the table for some time now and is something Britney has always wanted to do. However, she had commitments on the US," an insider told The Mirror's 3AM.
"Now she and Jason have split, her new team have put everything into fast-forward, and personal terms have been agreed. It’s simply a matter of dotting the Is and crossing the Ts now."
It has also been confirmed that Britney's dates will not clash with Elton John whose residency at Ceasar's Palace runs until 2014.
