Jodie Foster Comes Out On Live Television

Finally, after years of avoiding any official confirmation, Jodie Foster just came out at the Golden Globe Awards.




Receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award for the many, many great films she has made over the past four decades, an obviously nervous Foster first toyed with the audience a little, dancing around the issue before affirming that, yes, she is a lesbian. (She had previously thanked a female partner in a 2007 speech, but it was not an official, direct coming out.)

Well aware that people have been waiting for this moment for years, Foster explained that her delay wasn't based in shame, but in the fact that she came of age when there was a larger premium on privacy.

She was not of the era when gay or lesbian stars held press conferences to discuss their private lives, she said. But, standing up on that stage, poised and proud, Foster finally did the deed. And we couldn't be more happy for her!

Part of me wonders if it's a "I'm breaking up with YOU, Hollywood, not the other way 'round" kind of thing, since her association with Gibson can't be well-received.

RDJ gets away with it because of penis, etc.

target! they make really good ones, i got a new set and it's maybe the most comfy set of sheets i've ever owned and they are big enough that they pulled down over my mattress AND the boxspring

You should check out Land's End. Love love love their cotton sheets and they last forever. They have jersey sheets too.

I've gotten good ones at Amazon. They were kind of pricey to me (~50) but I can feel the difference. They were Amazon brand (Pinzon).

Yeah I just realized the audio cut off for too little time for her to say that. She asked for a "wolf whistle" I think, and then it cut off.

RDJ is most definitely dead to me. I haven't been a fan of his in a very long time. And yes, Jodie Foster's unwavering support for that shitbag Mel Gibson made me dislike her strongly but it had already been a long ass time since she'd done anything I'd been impressed by. The fact that she supports Polanski is just icing.
