TMZ: Britney Spears set to make over $100 Million a year in Vegas deal

Britney Spears' team has almost locked an enormously lucrative deal which will make her a fortune in return for appearing in Las Vegas ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... Britney is seriously considering picking up stakes and making her residency Las Vegas -- something just made easier after her split with fiance Jason Trawick. She's been negotiating with one of the Caeser group properties to appear in a Celine Dion-type show.

Sources connected to the negotiations tell us ... from Brit's standpoint, "The deal is a go. There are several stipulations that could throw a monkey wrench in the deal, but it's basically done."

One of the outstanding issues -- exactly what Britney will be doing. There's back-and-forth over whether she will just perform on stage at a big theater multiple nights a week, or whether she will also make appearances at functions in the hotels, nightclubs and pool day clubs.

Our sources say the money being negotiated is "astronomical" -- more than Celine's $100 mil a year.

I'm going to Vegas this summer, please let this be true!
grammaire 13th-Jan-2013 03:05 pm (UTC)
Highly doubt the show would be ready for summer.
megisthesex 13th-Jan-2013 03:09 pm (UTC)
.....i really don't know how to feel about this.
megisthesex 13th-Jan-2013 03:13 pm (UTC)
actually i do....i cannot get behind this. britney is way too young and still has too much life left in her career to do the vegas thing. vegas is where you go after 20, 30 years. its what you do when you no longer care if your culturally relevant or chart anymore.

britney can still put out #1 albums and songs. i don't understand why she just won't put out this last album under rca, relax/semi-retire for a few years and come out under a new label and new direction.

it makes no sense to me other than she has absolutely no control over this/ does not give a flying fuck about her career and her team sees it as the easiest way for all of them to make money.

its like a public admission of defeat in my opinion. as if her team is saying lets wave the red flag and put her in a casino because we're just going to let the public know she's irrelevant. what the fuck is larry thinking
kwikimart 13th-Jan-2013 03:11 pm (UTC)
LOL WTF?!

Who would pay that much for her to waddle on stage in a too tight bedazzled costume, mime/forget some lyrics, look dead in the eyes and do some half-hearted body rolls and two steps?!

She's at that point in her career anyway where she might as well do more stuff like this coz she's not up to world tours/her usual performance standard.

Is there a reason why her label/fans won't let this caged bird fly or nah? I know I just shaded her but even I think this is harsh. Just LET HER GO!
I'd rather Beyonce retired TOMORROW than see her end up like Britney right now (btw I'm not talking about mental health, I mean as in weak, shoddy performances and clearly disinterested in her job).
finchandreese 13th-Jan-2013 03:42 pm (UTC)
I honestly believe she does all of that on purpose hoping even her owners get that she's really over this.
withoutyoursmil 13th-Jan-2013 05:44 pm (UTC)
that makes complete sense. she's always been a ~rebel. i'm gonna go with this theory
bradentastic 13th-Jan-2013 08:19 pm (UTC)
yeah i've thought for the past year or two that she sees this as her last option of rebelling against he management. as if saying, "oh you want me to do this so you'll make money? i'm going to half ass my way through this tour and spite all of you"

to think about it, there aren't any pop stars who are as good as her in dancing when brit was in her prime.

she is dead and buried never to return.

i cant see the britney of 2013 even mustering a glance of owning the stage which is sad. :(

not a single Circus or FF tour moment....which is not surprising
november_love 13th-Jan-2013 03:14 pm (UTC)
Don't get me wrong, I love Britney. But I love Celine too and Britney making more than Celine is just ridiculous. Celine actually has passion and an amazing LIVE voice. :/

mfte.
dirrtypony 13th-Jan-2013 03:23 pm (UTC)
i just dont see what the point of this is. she cant sing and now she cant dance....wtf is she going to do? does she actually want to do this? i find that hard to believe because once she steps on set/stage she completely blanks out.
arielcharming 13th-Jan-2013 03:37 pm (UTC)
something just made easier after her split with fiance Jason Trawick.

ffs I was away for ONE DAY. ONE DAY. Going to look at the Britney tag. brb
xliquidskiesx 13th-Jan-2013 04:32 pm (UTC)

lickety_split 14th-Jan-2013 01:23 am (UTC)
IKR?
insomniachobs 13th-Jan-2013 03:39 pm (UTC)
I could see that being either brilliant or terrible for her.
finchandreese 13th-Jan-2013 03:41 pm (UTC)
Oh God poor Britney...but as one of her biggest fans I'd go see her. That's the sick thing - everyone knows all she wants to do is go home and be a mom to her boys, yet her owners tell her to keep half assing on that stage. Vicious cycle that is.
lovedforaday 13th-Jan-2013 03:55 pm (UTC)
I get that her handlers want her to have a structured routine, but it has to be something better than having her listlessly wander around the stage and lip syncing nightly.
offinlahlahland 13th-Jan-2013 04:04 pm (UTC)
I understand why this might be attractive to her. It's work while simultaneously being able to offer some stability. Not a lot of moving around when you're performing every week.

The thing is, is she the right type for a Vegas show? When I hear of people like Bette Midler, Celine Dion and Shania Twain getting Los Vegas shows, it makes sense. They've got the talent and the energy to put on a spectacle every night. And you pay top Dollar to see them. Would anyone really want to pay to see Britney lipsync and wave her arms around while on the strip? It's one thing when she's going out to her fans, because they'll support her in everything, but if she's staying put in one place and they have to come to her? I don't think she's much of an "attraction" per say.

But Brit Brit has surprised me before, so let's see.
teenageluminary 13th-Jan-2013 04:20 pm (UTC)
I wondered about that too. But Britney's music/performances are really cheesy/over the top, so I could see people going, if only for the shits and giggles.

Her finance team is pretty smart though - I'm sure they wouldn't lock her into a three year deal unless they thought people were going to come.
insaynejayne 13th-Jan-2013 04:19 pm (UTC)
Whelp going to Vegas
juanbomb 13th-Jan-2013 04:22 pm (UTC)
didn't she do Vegas already and it flopped?

and she was at her peak...
andres01234 13th-Jan-2013 04:22 pm (UTC)
more than Celine's $100 mil a year.

I love my queen to death, but this is just... no
chilli_cheese 13th-Jan-2013 04:25 pm (UTC)
Sigh. The money-making machine keeps on going.
