I love her, but I admit she comes off as really condescending in this video. I don't get why she's so angry at Twitter.

i have never been able to get used to twitter, i don't know how to interact there or find friends.

i usually try it for a couple of months, and quit after realizing that i have 2 followers who are simply my best friends irl.

I agree Tina, I fucking agree.

I only like twitter for people who are funny on it, otherwise it's annoying as a communication medium and I can't stand when people try to write entire blogs worth of feelings on their twitter by writing several posts.

I know what's she saying but Twitter is great. Yeah, some people post about how great their sandwich is (and that's cool, that's fine, good for you for liking sandwiches) but I think it's such a great tool, especially in times of.. crisis? Does that make sense? I swear I get half my news/find out what's happening in the world from Twitter.

ia some news i get first from twitter than on the news sites/tv, i mainly use twitter for that so i always scratch my head when someone complains about people being dumb, i mean why not just unfollow them?

It was great for the revolutions in other countries where the government was all "EVERYTHING IS FINE, WE'RE JUST HAVING A BIG BLOCK PARTY!" like soooo much came out about what was going down in Egypt and Libya before the government blacked out their Internet (and even then some stuff got through).

twitter actually helped saved lives during the recent floods in my country. i remember this one chick who was trapped in her house with her family (water was i think waist-high in their area), and only had her phone. she tweeted for help, and it got passed around until it reached the red cross, who then recused them.

It really does! I was more informed than ever before this election cycle because of Twitter and it was Twitter that gave me the heads up that Obama was going to speak the night we caught Bin Laden (and it was Twitter that put 2 + 2 together and figured out that we HAD caught Bin Laden before it was made official).

I've also found @FEMA to follow so when there is another big earthquake (and in So Cal it's always a when and not an if) I've got a good way to keep up with the latest updates.

So yeah. Of course there is stupid stuff on there, but it can also be a useful tool if you follow the right accounts.

Personally, I've never gotten the appeal of using twitter and am not overly fond of the format, so I don't really use my account to tweet - HOWEVER, it does allow me to know what Stephen Fry and Laurence Fox are up to at almost any given time, so I can't be mad at it.

Yeah, twitter is pretty fucking dumb tbh. As a promo tool, yes. As a way to communicate in times of war and revolution, yes. One-liners from comedians? Sure.

Everything else, fucking no. And I say this as someone whose fave has a glorious Twitter
