I feel like studio execs never seem to understand why something is successful, so whenever they try to copy something, the film often ends up financially underperforming. Not even comic book nerds will pay for a halfassed movie you clearly don't care about (see: Green Lantern), so why bother sinking money into something that's going to flop because you don't know what you're doing?

I don't know, I know you have to churn out hits, but I just feel like so much money in Hollywood is wasted when it doesn't have to be.
