Game of Thrones story editor Bryan Cogman has hinted at plot events in future seasons.
Cogman told SciFiNow that George RR Martin's novel A Storm of Swords will "more or less" form the basis of the HBO drama's third and fourth seasons.
"We get more and more amazing cast members every year and we kill a few too to make room, and that tradition is going to continue in season three," he promised.
"More of less we're covering seasons three and four with the events of A Storm of Swords but from now on we're not looking at a book per season, there's going to be a lot more blending of elements of all the books as needed."
The writer claimed that it would have been "impossible" to adapt Martin's third A Song of Ice and Fire novel into a single season.
"It was impossible for us to conceive stuffing all of the major events of Storm of Swords into 10 episodes and the schedule is such that we really can't fit in more than 10 episodes per season," he explained.
Game of Thrones season three will premiere on March 31 on HBO in the US and will debut a day later on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

I say this and I've never done it, so..
Season 1 had Ned's death to serve as the big ending. Season 2 had Battle of Blackwater. Season 3 is going to have the RD. Season 4 is maybe going to have the Purple Wedding??? Or Dany taking over Meereen???
But like idk.
I think that there are some big moments that happen at the end of ADWD (what happens to Jon, obvs) but that wouldn't happen until the end of season 5, probs. So idk what the big season 4 moment would be.
I wonder if she'll die.
I do like Oona though. Marnie Madden ftw <3

And Christina Hendricks???? wtf ever, no
I can't help it though when she's like "OMG Robb/Talisa is adorable".
Bahahaha, this. This is also how I feel about Downton S3; my entire family has NO idea what's coming and I am gonna enjoy it.
We definitely need a viewing party for the RW or I'll have to invite people over or SOMETHING, because I am not watching that shit alone. And I can't remember where it is in the book because I am a sucky fan, but when
And really, once you finish the third book you aren't going to want to stop.
Also, a few characters go off traveling and doing things that bring them away from each other (and to new characters) and some people find these storylines and exercises in world building boring because they feel like it's "nothing" happening.
TBH, I actually grew to like book 4 a lot after my second read-through. Book 5 can still diaf, tho.
not looking forward to people probably finding a way to blame Cat for the Red Wedding
