Between now and its US premiere on the 31st of March, followed by the UK airing on the 1st of April, Game Of Thrones fans are being drip-fed information about the new episodes on an almost daily basis by HBO, the latest of which is confirmation of exactly who has written and directed what for the new run.
Season three of Game Of Thrones is to follow a similar pattern to the previous two runs, with seven episodes written by showrunners David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, (FUCKSHITFUCK) including the season opener and final three installments, and the three remaining episodes penned by Vanessa Taylor (season two's Garden Of Bones and The Old Gods And The New), Bryan Cogman (season one's Cripples, Bastards And Broken Things and season two's What Is Dead May Never Die), and - but of course - creator George R.R. Martin (season one's The Pointy End, and season two's Blackwater, voted by our writers as the best TV episode of 2012).
In terms of direction, there are two new names on the list, the first Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead director Michelle MacLaren, and the second The West Wing's Alex Graves. Both are joined by the welcome return of season one director Dan Minahan, What Is Dead May Never Die's Alik Sakharov, and season two's David Nutter. Alan Taylor is visible by his absence, due to filming clashes with Thor sequel The Dark World.

Well.....another season gone to hell. I need a palate cleanser. LOOK STANNIS WITH A TEDDY BEAR <3
You have no idea how much of each script gets written by the ones with their names on the episodes.
People saying they're going the ruin the red wedding or they hate Cat or whatever the fuck else - it's all assumptions based on extrapolations and until you've read the scripts or seen the episodes you can't say how the season is going to be.
D&D do not understand Cat. They have proven they don't with how they've written her and they've already said that they didn't understand her. It's not that hard to figure out. One of the other writers even talked about how one of the producers asked for a completely unnecessary nude scene because the episode didn't have enough tits. I mean really. They also screwed Dany's story line to hell. All of this information is not under wraps.
D&D are also the ones who came up with Ros and Talisa, two terribly constructed characters.
I could get the scripts if I wanted to, but I'm really not interested in suffering through shitty writing all over again.
I doubt you could get the scripts if you wanted to... or your 'insider contacts' would get their asses fired.
but that's not the conversation the audience is having---neither is it one they should be expected to have. the issues ppl have are with the final product, not the originals or rewrites.
and the final product suffers from poor writing. there's no way in hell to justify some of the shit that went down in season 2. u can't chalk bad dialogue, lazy story lines, and poor characterization up to tight budgets and disgruntled fans.
i'm not saying ALL of it is bad but the drop in quality from season 1 to 2 is HUGE and a lot of it has to do with how far they steered away from the books. season 1 was an excellent adaption with their touches that were REALLY well done. some of my favorite scenes in season 1 r D&W's doing. but season 2? reads like a fan fiction. their bias with certain characters gets in the way of the story and THAT i am SOOOOOOOOOO not ok with.
how is that an excuse for the final product?
the process of how many/which writers work on what---the average audience member wouldn't know that and shouldn't be expected to. ppl r reacting to the handling of the last season and the impression they've been left with is D&W can't write for shit. it's their faces and their names that have been asked to represent and represent they shall. not knowing about the ~contributions~ behind it doesn't invalidate the audiences' criticisms.
the most popular episodes by far of season 2 have bryan cogman's and GRRM's names on them. i mean, did u miss those posts? obviously seeing D&W's name all over season 3 doesn't make them happy.
so of course ppl CAN say and r going to say D&W can't write for shit based on the final product that their names on. ideg how that's so difficult to understand.
