HBO confirms Game Of Thrones season 3 writers and directors

Between now and its US premiere on the 31st of March, followed by the UK airing on the 1st of April, Game Of Thrones fans are being drip-fed information about the new episodes on an almost daily basis by HBO, the latest of which is confirmation of exactly who has written and directed what for the new run.

Season three of Game Of Thrones is to follow a similar pattern to the previous two runs, with seven episodes written by showrunners David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, (FUCKSHITFUCK) including the season opener and final three installments, and the three remaining episodes penned by Vanessa Taylor (season two's Garden Of Bones and The Old Gods And The New), Bryan Cogman (season one's Cripples, Bastards And Broken Things and season two's What Is Dead May Never Die), and - but of course - creator George R.R. Martin (season one's The Pointy End, and season two's Blackwater, voted by our writers as the best TV episode of 2012).

In terms of direction, there are two new names on the list, the first Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead director Michelle MacLaren, and the second The West Wing's Alex Graves. Both are joined by the welcome return of season one director Dan Minahan, What Is Dead May Never Die's Alik Sakharov, and season two's David Nutter. Alan Taylor is visible by his absence, due to filming clashes with Thor sequel The Dark World.

Joffrey marries Margaery and he is killed during the feast.

Thank you :) I knew this would happen, but I didn't know it was called the purple wedding. I only read summaries from the books and it said, that it happens during their engagement party.
