This, City of Bones and Beautiful Creatures are going to consume tumblr...I fear for my soul.
squirrels_oh_no 9th-Jan-2013 04:43 am (UTC)
Wait until they start filming Divergent.
m_pendulum 9th-Jan-2013 04:47 am (UTC)
Fuck that book seriously. It was so over hyped that my general meh has turned into hulk rage.
angelmonster 9th-Jan-2013 04:47 am (UTC)
Ugh, this is happening? This book was such a rip off of the giver.
sandvich 9th-Jan-2013 04:48 am (UTC)
Divergent is so fucking bad, omg. I try not to get irritated about dumb stuff like YA cash-in lit but I just hate hearing everyone talk about how great it is.
shining_starsxx 9th-Jan-2013 07:23 am (UTC)
Ugh. I really tried to like Divergent but I just couldn't.
landwarinasia 9th-Jan-2013 08:17 am (UTC)
Ughhghghg I hated that book so much.
bitterblueb 9th-Jan-2013 04:43 am (UTC)
tumblr savior ;)
xdecadentx 9th-Jan-2013 10:34 am (UTC)
I was genuinely shocked when I saw the trailer for Beautiful Creatures and it had Emma Thompson in it. It made me curious.
s0ftlyraining 9th-Jan-2013 04:31 am (UTC)
Wait the host is about aliens? I thought it was a weird, non-sequel to Twilight about a side character. I'm obviously not at all part of the Twilight universe.
h0tfuss 9th-Jan-2013 04:32 am (UTC)
Well it's still a paranormal romance about girls who undergo physical transformations in the course of navigating relationships.
katabolic_kenz 9th-Jan-2013 09:16 am (UTC)
You are thinking about The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Yes, I had to look that up and no I haven't read it.
blooms_lady 9th-Jan-2013 04:31 am (UTC)
Do they fuck in the first one? Or do they wait til the fourth book and have an alien bay-bay? o_O
disclosure 9th-Jan-2013 08:27 pm (UTC)
Fortunately this one is a singular novel.
vervain 10th-Jan-2013 03:28 pm (UTC)
but the sequel is still in the works.
brucelynn 9th-Jan-2013 04:33 am (UTC)
Cher Horowitz why is this post locked
bitterblueb 9th-Jan-2013 04:40 am (UTC)
Fixed it
telepathic 9th-Jan-2013 04:33 am (UTC)
ugh Saoirse clearly can get better roles. what is her agent doing
h0tfuss 9th-Jan-2013 04:36 am (UTC)
Probably just wanted to land her in a surefire hit with a built-in teen girl following.
bitterblueb 9th-Jan-2013 04:43 am (UTC)
She has quite a few good roles after filming this imo
sandvich 9th-Jan-2013 04:47 am (UTC)
$$$$$
m_pendulum 9th-Jan-2013 04:37 am (UTC)
I wonder if they are going to keep in all the abusive bits, because from these images none of that seems to be coming up.
moustacherider 9th-Jan-2013 04:42 am (UTC)
civilsavage 9th-Jan-2013 04:51 am (UTC)

moustacherider 9th-Jan-2013 04:54 am (UTC)

ishumy 9th-Jan-2013 04:46 am (UTC)
My best friend wants me to read the book before even thinking of watching the movie because she swears up and down that it's so much better than Twilight. I kind of doubt it because Meyer, but is that true?
takobella 9th-Jan-2013 04:57 am (UTC)
It's better than twilight for sure IMO, although the first 45 pages or so are really hard to get past (a lot of ppl say this)

I mean the writing is mediocre and I can see why some ppl are put off by the themes,, but it's entertaining and I liked it

vehiclesshockme 9th-Jan-2013 09:27 am (UTC)
It takes forever for it to get moving but yeah it's better than Twilight.
kukamine 9th-Jan-2013 04:46 am (UTC)
where is that gif from?
Aw they both seem like adorable ppl
Is she 18 yet? I feel extremely old and jealous of her beauty whenever I see her lol
hera_bearrra 9th-Jan-2013 09:47 am (UTC)
Saoirse is so lovely
sandvich 9th-Jan-2013 04:47 am (UTC)
Diane and Saoirse deserve better than a Stephenie Meyer shitshow.

misscrystal 9th-Jan-2013 06:16 am (UTC)

shining_starsxx Re: Names of medicines in this book9th-Jan-2013 07:26 am (UTC)
That's some Pokemon shit.
missjersey 9th-Jan-2013 04:48 am (UTC)
Hey, it looks a hella lot more interesting than Twilight so I might see it in theaters/on my Mac [illegally].
cageyb 9th-Jan-2013 04:51 am (UTC)
This is actually on paper a really interesting sci-fi premise. Alien body snatchers who take away the free will of an entire species solely to improve it technologically and medically, and the main character is a girl who is in love with one guy while the creature inhabiting her body is in love with a different guy, creating a kind of romantic quadrangle and raising the issues of free will, the greater good, consent, the nature of the soul, etc. Like, in the hands of a better writer this has potential.
m_pendulum 9th-Jan-2013 04:54 am (UTC)
I agree, it would have been so much deeper if they hadn't made Wanda perfect.
takobella 9th-Jan-2013 05:01 am (UTC)
IA actually

I liked the book, but a better writer could have done something amazing w it

xbellaxmiax 9th-Jan-2013 05:23 am (UTC)
honestly, smeyer has good ideas. a lot of the sub-plots and backgrounds for the characters in Twilight were interesting and touched upon bigger, more complex themes that could have been very intriguing to explore in a better writer's hands. the same could be said of The Host. she has good ideas, but always manages to minimize everything to shallow romances, fantasy fulfillment, and Mary-Sue protoganoists. also, her actual writing is not very good. so yeah- i wonder how these stories could have played out written by a more competent author.
jaded56 9th-Jan-2013 07:27 am (UTC)
wow if you put it like that...
shadowfax 9th-Jan-2013 11:45 am (UTC)
Without the teen romance nonsense this could actually be interesting
rhythmicstereo 9th-Jan-2013 09:15 pm (UTC)
There's actually no teen romance in this. The characters are all in their 20's
licorrice 9th-Jan-2013 04:52 am (UTC)
only here for that qt as gif.
dottiehinkle 9th-Jan-2013 04:53 am (UTC)
