If they do introduce the Martells, I hope they aren't white because it wouldn't make sense to me. Considering where Dorne is, I always thought they would be similar to the Achaemenid/Seleucid Empire (Ancient Persia right before Alexander the Great, during, and After) or even Old Kingdom of Egypt. That was just me though

GRRM has already said it's based on Moorish Spain, Palestine and Wales (location-wise and politically).

So basically, the Martells should probably look like North Africans.

idk i always think of daynes as arab maybe. i'm not sure if we got a description of arthur dayne, but ashara is described as having dark hair and i always considered the dornish to all be non-white, although their appearances differ in terms of how dark/light they are

The Martells are not white though. Gurm has said so.
there are three types of Dornishmen (Dorne is a fairly multi-ethnic place. Gurm said it was like Moorish Spain,which was muslims christians and jews living together)
Sandy Dorishmen- dark brown skin live in the deserts
Salty Dornishmen- brown skin (kind of middle eastern.) the Martells are salty dornishmen
Stony Dornishmen- have the blood of the First Men in their veins (i feel like the first men are like Anglo Saxons) so they are white.

i have a nervous breakdown every time i see them fancast with white actors on tumblr, i don't think i could handle seeing it like that on the actual show
