The musical lovebirds, who spent time vacationing in the snow and sun together over the holidays, have broken up, sources confirm to PEOPLE
News of the couple's demise has been widespread: the New York Post's Page Six reports, citing a source, that after visiting the British Virgin Islands together following a New Year's Eve smooch, Swift left by herself on Jan. 4
Meanwhile, a photo of Styles in a hot tub with multiple people, including Richard Branson, surfaced Monday
Reps for both stars have not commented
Swift, 23, and Styles, 18, debuted as a couple during a taping of The X Factor in November, and were seemingly inseparable after that. They packed on the PDA at a party in New York on Dec. 6, and spent her birthday together visiting northern England
Although the pair appeared to fall for each other fast, a source who knows Swift told PEOPLE of the romance, "No one is taking it seriously."

Taylor Swift, yet again, has some fresh material for a new breakup song: As rumored, Swift, 22, and One Direction's Harry Styles have split, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.
Things went south last week for the couple during a vacation on Virgin Gorda, the third-largest of the British Virgin Islands -- with Swift cutting the holiday short and jetting back home to Nashville.
"They had a fight," one insider tells Us. British crooner Styles, 18, "said something he shouldn't have . . . This [breakup] is definitely going to be for good."
"They are 100 percent over," another insider adds, noting that the "Red" chanteuse could be "intense."
Swift was first seen flirting with Styles back in mid-November -- and was photographed holding hands with the boy bander a couple weeks later. Before ringing in the New Year with a sweet kiss, they went on a ski trip with another volatile young couple: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

the usual comments in those posts were 'why are all of you giving her shit for this...? if it was a guy who was older you'd be okay with it' ...there were people that didn't approve but then lots of people would come and defend her...anyway, it was really talked about.

The thing to remember here, while the age of consent in the US is 16 (with parental approval if I'm correct), the age of consent iirc is 18 in the UK, parental consent be damned. Under UK law, she was a sex offender for this.
