Like, I get that he's not on top, but the people who bring that up in each post about him really need to acknowledge the role homophobia played into what happened to his career.
P.S. Tresspassing is literally one of the best albums of the last decade and it is tragic that he's not more successful.

His spectacle/gimmick wore off, people moved on. Maybe some people did out of homophobia, but I can't help but role my eyes when stans say their favs were ~ahead of their time~
He wasn't ahead of his time. He was right on time. His spectacle/gimmick didn't "wear off", it was ripped off by that performance. You and whomever else can pretend that isn't the case, but it doesn't make it any less of a fact. He was the subject on every major morning show, his album was heavily marketed, he was getting red carpet interviews out the wazoo, he was on fucking covers.
Then he kissed a man, he was officially banned from one of the major networks, and many others quickly followed suit. He was written off as profane and not given the time of day.
He's not a flop artist. He's been working consistently since AI, he's a pretty big fucking deal pretty much everywhere else in the world, especially Asia. He's bringing in the dough. He's just not big here, where it matters, and because he is unapologetic about how overt sexuality which happens to be homosexuality.
I'm not making a martyr of him. For every Adam there are 100 people just like him who never even got a chance to be known to anyone just because they wouldn't hide who they were. He's nothing special, in that regard. But people pretending his career "flopped" for any other reason except homophobia is dangerous levels of bullshit and I'm gonna call it out.
Not especially, no. ONTD is the only place I really stan openly, I've never been one to go to a specific artist-centric site or board or anything. I like too many things to devote all of my time to one.
generally, people who go into posts just to call some person a flop don't really care about facts or photos or anything like that. In their little heads, the person's a flop, and nothing you say will convince them otherwise.
