First Look: Katie Holmes in Bobbi Brown’s Very First Celebrity Ad Campaign

Remember that rumor back in September that Katie Holmes was going to be the first-ever celebrity face for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics? It’s now a reality.

Beauty companies regularly team up with pretty celebs, but this one is a first for both Holmes and Bobbi Brown. While Holmes has fronted for fashion brands like Miu Miu and Ann Taylor, this is her first beauty campaign. And Bobbi Brown has never used a celeb endorser to promote her goods.

HuffPo got an exclusive first look at the campaign, which features Holmes in a rather glammed-up, smokey eye look. “I really like [Bobbi Brown's] philosophy that makeup makes you feel beautiful,” Holmes told HuffPo. “I’ve always been a fan of her makeup, because it’s so easy to apply. Her color palettes aren’t extreme, so when I first started wearing makeup it felt comfortable and I didn’t feel like I had too much on, which can happen.” You can check out another more natural pic of Katie on Bobbi Brown’s website, complete with a how-to for her look.

Love Bobbi Brown makeup. Her shimmer lip glosses are the best, they are pricey but worth it.

Bobbi Brown long-wear gel eyeliner is my SHIT. I use it everyday. Sucks when it dried out, but then I learned that I can blast it with my blowdryer for 30 seconds and it's good as new.
isthisdesire 8th-Jan-2013 01:16 am (UTC)
with a blow dryer? huh.

Does this fix it for a long time or do I have to do that every time I use it?
arminaa 8th-Jan-2013 01:18 am (UTC)
I do it about once a week and it keeps it in good condition.
_storysofar 8th-Jan-2013 01:17 am (UTC)
YES, it's GOLD! I wear it almost everyday too.
mysticlady3 8th-Jan-2013 01:25 am (UTC)
Never heard of using a blow drying. I just put it in the microwave for like 15 seconds.

I prefer Clinque's gel liner.
if_musicbe 8th-Jan-2013 02:05 am (UTC)
omg bless you! Mine dried out and I was super bummed (too poor to buy a new one rn, lol). Totally going to try this.

what is the best foundation for dry skin? and please don't say Revlon Colorstay cause that shit makes me look so freakin dry.
lucciolaa Re: MAKEUP POST? :D8th-Jan-2013 01:14 am (UTC)
You need to find Colorstay specifically formulated for dry skin, I know they have one for dry, oily, and combo skin types.
lemmonsugar Re: MAKEUP POST? :D8th-Jan-2013 01:18 am (UTC)
will look into that, thank you!!!

Buy an aloe plant.
Nurture your aloe plant.
Break a stalk off and spread a mask of aloe gel on your face before applying foundation. This will also help fill in fine lines and wrinkles.

I have dry patches in the winter and what I use now is Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation, doesn't set in my dry patches (apply with a flat top brush using buffing motion) and its super liquidy and moisturizing :D it does wonders for my skin and makes it look amazing and actually improves discolouration and roughness (on me at least)
jeveuxmacaron Re: MAKEUP POST? :D8th-Jan-2013 01:18 am (UTC)
laura mercier creme smooth or cover girl aquasmooth
calderone9 Re: MAKEUP POST? :D8th-Jan-2013 01:18 am (UTC)
Mac face and body, or any foundation that is water based will help the dryness.
arminaa Re: MAKEUP POST? :D8th-Jan-2013 01:20 am (UTC)
Believe it or not, Revlon Colorstay whipped is the best foundation on my very, very dry skin. I'm with you on the regular colorstay, it didn't work at all for me either. But the whipped is a whole different formulation, very moisturizing, and works wonders.

anything by clinique is great.
hotcement 8th-Jan-2013 03:09 am (UTC)
i have quit trying to find makeup that works around my skin type and tackled the issue of my skin itself. serum is my shiiiiiiiiit now. it's expensive [upwards of $65 for most brands i've seen] but you only need a few drops and it then a regular moisturizer on top. wound up not having to switch my makeup at all.

Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation

I'm a little late to the party but I've just started using Stila's Stay the Day foundation-it's amazing. It lasts and lasts and stays matte without caking, drying or cracking, and it's perked my drained-as-of-late face right up! I'm going to try their Stay the Day BB cream hopefully this week too!

Kim was the cashier, right?

I'm assuming that's Lil' Kim b/c of the eyebrows but I haven't seen any of her recent faces so idk.

of all the celebrity endorsers, she is just so.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
jigglemypuff 8th-Jan-2013 01:13 am (UTC)
Might as well. Her acting career isn't going anywhere.
dives 8th-Jan-2013 01:15 am (UTC)
This is actually decent Photoshopping, in that it doesn't make her look like a totally different person.

I LOVE bobbi brown, especially the lip glosses and shimmerbricks.

im super excited about getting two new perfumes: royal apothic holland park and the set of 3 10 ml frederic malle en passant sprays.

also i've found that cover girl lash blast leaves diorshow IN THE DUST. like they're not even comparable, the cover girl is so much better. i'm shocked.
blur Re: beauty post?8th-Jan-2013 01:54 am (UTC)
i realllllly want en passant but i'm trying to keep myself from buying it until i use up some of the bottles of stuff i already have
jeveuxmacaron Re: beauty post?8th-Jan-2013 01:56 am (UTC)
girrrrllll i've been so bad this month lol. three chanels and two guerlains and a byredo. i'm trying to compromise by just getting the 10 ml sprays, i know malle says they aren't meant to be used on their own (just as refills for the metal travelling spray canisters) but i'm just going to keep them in their box in my room so i don't think it matters haha.
sofiascarlett Re: beauty post?8th-Jan-2013 01:57 am (UTC)
omg, hi how are you?

is your icon from W.E. btw?
smolderhotter 8th-Jan-2013 01:16 am (UTC)
why do they keep doing this to her face JESUS CHRIST
br_kenmirror 8th-Jan-2013 01:17 am (UTC)
This is Katie's first beauty campaign?

I saw her ads in Vogue China for an asian beauty company though. It was facial products and I thought that's considered a beauty campaign as well. Just being pedantic etc.
champagnexdream 8th-Jan-2013 01:19 am (UTC)
She has done fashion campaigns (Miu Miu, Coach, Gap) and she did a commercial for Garnier early in her career. I think that's it though.
