i knew i was in for a special treat all those years ago, when the opening credits started and a bunch of tree branches were smacking against the camera with no attempt to avoid them

Yeah, I'd say it's just another Evil Dead movie rather than a remake because the only thing it has in common with the original is a bunch of kids at a cabin.
That annoys me considering he has said in past interviews that he regrets putting that scene in the original. Obviously he doesn't really give a shit and prefers to give his fans what they want (because lbr so many evil dead fans love that goddamn scene).
I still think it's weird that they remade this considering that Evil Dead 2 was already a remake but this actually looks a lot better than I thought it was going to. The shift in tone looks like it's going to make it work.
she looks like a child if gollum and marion cotillard procreate

It doesn't even look funny.
Now, if we're talking Evil Dead II, then there is absolutely no chance.
idk if i could deal w watching the remake and it not being good enough
My friend asked me to see a movie tomorrow. I didn't realize the Texas Chainsaw movie was out this weekend.
I think it looks like what would have happened if Evil Dead actually had a budget and some technology.
We would have gotten a pretty decent scary movie...but it's no Evil Dead.

The video even has the same thumbnail image but I guess this one's almost a minute longer.
I'm excited for this tbh.
