Iggy Azalea Talks Sound Of ‘The New Classic’; Why T.I. Won’t Executive Produce It & Features

Iggy Azalea’s tour made a stop in Berlin, Germany recently where 16 Bars had the chance to sit down with her for a chat. The Grand Hustle femcee explains growing up in Australia and moving to Miami at the age of 16. She talks about her influences and what kind of sound we can expect from her upcoming debut album "The New Classic" as well wanting to record with Missy Elliott.

Iggy also reveals that T.I. won’t be executive producing the album, as originally planned and reveals some of the collaborations she is about to do including Diplo, Steve Aoki and Flosstradamus.

As a member of the Grand Hustle gang you would think Iggy Azalea would take full advantage of the wealth of knowledge CEO T.I. has --but that's certainly not the case! The rap newcomer told HipHollywood that she doesn't listen to Tip and rarely takes his advice... if ever!

I feel like "try" is too strong of a word.

who would "they" be though? she's an independent artist... I guess she's trying to make it yea, like any other artist? even if she sort of already DID happen though...
fight4thislove 4th-Jan-2013 12:35 am (UTC)
technically she's not independent if she's signed to Grand Hustle Records

she's not a part of the actual label, she's just on the team. Grand Hustle is an imprint of Atlantic/Warned which she's not signed to

T.I. and Iggy have also talked about it other times before if you bother to look it up for a better explanation I guess, lol
