Favourite moment of S6. Although that's not saying much.

Also, I feel so nostalgic when I see old school gifs over 1MB :')
beesknees7 3rd-Jan-2013 09:18 pm (UTC)
Back in the days where as long as it was under 3mb, it was good.

OH HELLO CARTER. Daaamn, girl. ♥

to sort out the hilarious 4 Men In Suits mess.

Yeees, it'll hopefully be highly entertaining and funny.
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 09:07 pm (UTC)
Right? I'm glad to see Carter all glammed up but at the same time I really appreciate the fact the show is otherwise keeping her outfits realistic, I am nhf cops in stilettos. Taraji is gorgeous either way imo.

And ikr, I can't wait to see how that plays out.

The 70s hippies were using bunnies as test subjects.

I tried to watch this show but didn't understand the point and found it boring.
lori22 3rd-Jan-2013 09:17 pm (UTC)
It's a really good show. I recommend you watching tonight's episode because it should be awesome!
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 09:25 pm (UTC)
It has a slow burn thing happening, imo it has enough action/humour/emotion/conspiracies to sustain the longer mysterious arcs but I can see how others might disagree.
jazzypom I hear you4th-Jan-2013 02:27 pm (UTC)
I think you have to watch a block of episodes to give it a chance to grab. On Christmas Eve, whilst doing a bunch of boring ass knitting, I watched it (because the concept seemed so incredulous to me) and at the end of five hours, I saw its appeal. I don't think I'd go out of my way to watch it again, but if my remote landed on the channel, I might not change.

Memerson is so amazing. And Ben was just such an epic character. I srsly feel happy/lucky I'm so into PoI so I can still freak over Memerson's perfection every week.
arbiterin 3rd-Jan-2013 09:38 pm (UTC)
ikr? Thank the Gods for POI, I wouldn't know what to do without our weekly Memerson fangirling. :')

I just started watching Lost recently, and he creeps me out but in a good way? He's fantastic at what he does. :P

I am really anticipating tonight's episode.

Thank you for posting this thread!
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 09:36 pm (UTC)
So am I bb, I can't wait to see more Finch undercover. And Reese and the other 3 dudes? That should be hilarious.

And thank you for stopping by bb, as always <333
la_petite_singe 3rd-Jan-2013 09:21 pm (UTC)
I'm so confused that CBS shows are back tonight! This is throwing off my groove big time. O____o But also yay because I ♥ these shows. I will not rest until TOQ guest-stars PoI, however. It's bad enough we never got Stephen Fry on House. >:P
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 09:40 pm (UTC)
Right? It's way too early, I'm still in rerun mode. But I can't complain, lol.

And ikr? He HAS to. I need a TOQ/Memerson onscreen reunion like I need air tbh.
kaiserschmarrn 3rd-Jan-2013 09:41 pm (UTC)
Is this show very procedural? I never know whether I want to start watching or not. I mean, Jim Caviezel is hot but procedurals rarely keep my interest :/ So far only Hawaii Five-0 and Elementary have managed but I'm not watching H50 anymore and Elementary is still fresh.
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 09:53 pm (UTC)
It is procedural in the sense that there's always a case of the week but PoI is much more serialised than most procedurals imo. It's more like Fringe, there are always ongoing mytharc storylines and in every single episode there's some sort of development with lasting effects (or a flashback or an answer to a mystery etc). Also, there are multiple major arcs, each with its own separate villain, so it doesn't get stale.

Like, you know how on H50 (which I've quit watching too btw) they have Wo Fat? Imagine a show with 4/5 Wo Fats. And imagine a show that doesn't "forget" about its villains/major storylines to have random totally standalone episodes, only bringing the villains back during sweeps. There's always continuity, to a degree that's unusual for a procedural imo.
kaiserschmarrn 3rd-Jan-2013 10:13 pm (UTC)
Thank you for the great answer! It sounds like the show is quite an interesting blend of serial/procedural elements. I imagine that it's more procedural in the beginning and then starts to develop the main arcs. I'll probably give it a try if I have time :)

omg i'm marathoning LOST rn (hopefully going to make it past season 5 this time). i'm on s4e11 and at this point i can't even pretend i have any idea what's going on. and i only really like jin and bernard anymore lmao

but ugh i hate this bug-eyed creepo, he's the w o r s t. why won't anyone just kill him??? desmond is the second worst because of the fucking hatch and his time-travelling *rme*
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 09:58 pm (UTC)
GORL WHAT

Ben was always my fave and Desmond was always my second fave. I can't process this comment rn.

And omg srsly you shouldn't wish to make it past season 5. Just stop there. It only goes downhill. I watched Lost as it aired and I often wish I could turn back time and not watch anything after the S4 finale/early S5.
daddyissues 3rd-Jan-2013 10:37 pm (UTC)
i think it went steadily downhill after season 1 lol
hypermuseic9 3rd-Jan-2013 10:09 pm (UTC)
HDU u have everything wrong lmao

Ben is the best, Locke is 2nd, Desmond is 3rd and Jack is fucking last @ life . ugh I cannot stand Jack at all.

also, random and unrelated to ben but they killed off shannon when she started to get interesting! they killed off boone when he started to get interesting! just as they gave them some depth and made me like them just one or two eps before they killed them off. WHY??? they were the hottest ones and i wanted to see what those stupid walt visions were all about ugh -_-

I am so excited for tonight's episode. But also very nervous. This show stresses me out, but in the best way. I've watched season 1, for the 3rd time, over holiday break as I got the DVDs for Christmas (my mom and I have been watching them, and she cannot stand not knowing what happens). So that's helped bridge the mid-season time gap but still, SO STRESSED ABOUT TONIGHT.

But I am definitely here for Dr. Linus 2.0. Also for the fact that it looks like Fusco will be spending more team time with Finch while Carter takes care of John's crazy ass problems (poor Joss, even if we get Taraji all fancy!).

I call Donnelly that Kevin Spacey looking mother fucker, btw. Just thought I'd share.

PS: MF yes to TOQ guest staring. Now that 666 Park is done, and Terry's still in NY...come on! They evidently hang out all the time still, Memerson and Terry. Carrie Preston posted a picture of the three of them having dinner during NYCC.
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 10:03 pm (UTC)
bb I feel you, I'm nervous as well. I love this show.

And that's a great point, it seems that we'll get Finch/Fusco and Reese/Carter action tonight (and for the next couple of episodes, maybe). I honestly love all the character combinations on this show, all the relationships are so well drawn imo.

And it's funny you should mention Kevin Spacey because I've been thinking of The Usual Suspects ever since the midseason finale aired, with the 4 suspects busted and with the FBI guy not knowing who the Man in a Suit is.

And omg I saw that pic. Precious. I love that they still hang out together :')
justspaz 3rd-Jan-2013 10:13 pm (UTC)
I judge my love of tv shows by how many emotions they give me, particularly whether I feel overly invested in them. POI is at the top for me. My mom loves it for a similar reason.

Yeah I mean, I love the regular Finch/Reese dynamic (and its fandom counterpart haha), but I also love the other interactions the show brings between the characters, especially when they revolve around Finch (like I need more Zoe and Finch, and more Finch and Elias--let's see their poker games more, Nolan and co!). And of course the flashback stuff with Finch and Nathan. Basically I have Michael Emerson tunnel vision, lolz.

I've heard those comparisons on TV Tropes! As I am woefully uneducated in film, I have not seen the movie itself, but I should get around to it soon!

Did you see the pic of Carrie and Michael that she posted on New Year's? Her twitter gives the creepy fan part of me life.
musicnextdoor 3rd-Jan-2013 10:10 pm (UTC)
I love everyone's clothes (except the jail jumpsuit). Glad this show is back!
demented_21 3rd-Jan-2013 10:30 pm (UTC)
mte, this show is surprisingly stylish sometimes (and Finch is always stylish).
musicnextdoor 3rd-Jan-2013 11:17 pm (UTC)
Yeah, they could get away with being slobby, but they don't at all. Finch is especially elegant. His outfits always are always perfect. Love the vests.
pastelstar 4th-Jan-2013 12:18 am (UTC)
I love this show, Batman Jesus makes my week.

This is one well dressed cast. hft that purply blue dress. She looks amazing.
demented_21 4th-Jan-2013 02:11 am (UTC)
Same here bb, I love this show :')

And ikr, they all look so spiffy and Carter especially looks fabulous.
