( Do you hear the people sing? Singing the song of angry men. It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again! When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums, there is a life about to start when tomorrow comes...Collapse )

As always, the previous three rounds can be found here. Animation looks like it's going to be an interesting race this year. Who are your favorites to win the big categories this year? Surprised at any pushes for nominations? Surprised at anything left out (there hasn't been a lot for just sound, visual effects and editing yet but I'm guessing when those start to surface Avengers will pop up)? Favorite performances of the year? Discuss.

i enjoyed it more than i thought i would
The Oscars fucked over TDK and TDKR just doesn't deserve any of the main awards, so that's the last chance for a while of a comic film winning a big oscar.
TDKR's plot was fucked, filled with eye rolling scenes and a generous helping of stupid.
i REALLY loved looper though. it def deserves a nom for original screenplay at least
Joseph Gordon-Who???
And after seeing Rust and Bone Marion Cotillard is who I'd love to see win. Granted, I've yet to see Zero Dark Thirty so maybe that will change my mind.
Also I love the Perks Ad, even if I know it doesn't stand much of a chance.
Saw Silver Linings last night and thought it was delightful.
I'd like to see Beasts of the Southern Wild at least get Best Score. And Moonrise Kingdom should get something, it was wonderful.
I don't really feel strongly that Les Mis should get awards even though I enjoyed it. I suppose Anne should get hers.
I have still yet to watch Dark Knight Rises.
side note, what's the gif from?
