If you do see it in 3D, make sure it's IMAX. Anything less and you might get hit with a lot of the issues so many had (cheap CGI, headaches). I typically avoid 3D as I'm partially blind, so the glasses don't work. But my bff really wanted to see it, and I went with her...and was surprised at how I actually enjoyed it.
And as for the 48 FPS, I never noticed it. But then I've got a TV with a high refresh rate, so I'm used to the hyper-realistic visuals that everyone else seemed to take issue with.
