Russell Crowe Agrees with Adam Lambert on Les Mis

Just a couple of days since Adam Lambert critiqued some of the Les Miserables actors for “pretending to be singers,” someone from the cast finally responds.

Although Lambert complimented the actors on giving emotional performances, and praised many for stellar vocals and acting especially Anne Hathaway which he called breathtaking, he thought the singing was at times distracting and dislikes how "Hollywoods movie musicals treat the singing as the last priority.”

And it looks like he's not alone in his assessment - at least partially.

Russell Crowe responded to a fan's inquiry about whether he'd seen Lambert's tweets, stating "I don't disagree with Adam." He went on to acknowledge that the vocals could have been "sweetened," but that the director "wanted it raw and real, that's how it is." He apparently saw no harm in Lambert's opinion. (source)

Obviously, Les Miz fans were more than a little miffed at Glambert’s review, though to be fair we’ve heard mixed opinions about the vocal performance of everyone from Anne Hathaway to Russell Crowe since the first trailer dropped. What’s ironic about the whole thing is that Les Miz is basically the Adam Lambert of movie musicals: amazing hair, flawless wardrobe, maybe a little too grandiose but we’d all be disappointed if it wasn’t over-the-top. Even better? It’s not like Lambert’s apologizing! “Sorry for being so harsh but it’s so True!,” he tweeted. “I’m so glad we are all discussing this now! Look-I grew up w this musical and so my expectations are quite high. Didn’t mean to b negative.” You’re totally forgiven, Adam. Now what did you think of The Guilt Trip? Don’t hold back! Show Barbra no mercy! Rip Rogen to shreds! (source)

So, it seems the actor most criticized for his vocals doesn't mind the critique at all. Interesting.

ENJOLRAS AND HIS SEXINESS STRIKES AGAIN! You are correct in your assessment of him. Basically I just go through these Les Mis posts and enthusiastically agree with everyone who loves Enjolras.

i've come to the conclusion that he fits my mental image of enjolras perfectly. voice will always be some michael maguire/anthony warlow hybrid, but looks-wise.... A+, my friend

He sounded really beautiful. Still "raw and real" like all the other castmembers but also very sweet and pleasing to the ear. Also he fit the look perfectly. I loved him.

THIS. my bff and I both let out a breathy "ooh" when he came on screen. It wasn't until he started singing that I realised it was Aaron Tveik.

I'd love to be the middle of an Aaron & Eddie sandwich. unf unf unf
