Jessica Simpson & Jennifer Hudson Show Off Weight Loss in New Ad

Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Hudson have a lot in common, specifically when it comes to balancing their careers with motherhood.

Now Simpson, 32, and Hudson, 31, have one more similarity to add to the list – they've both shed serious pounds thanks to Weight Watchers.

The spokeswomen for the weight loss company met when they shot their first joint advertisement – which will be available on PEOPLE.com on Wednesday – and discussed their lifelong struggles with their weight and body image.

Hudson says she figured she was "just born that way," while Simpson added that she was "always on some new life-stopping diet."

Simpson – who lost over 50 lbs. on the program – recently announced her pregnancy on Twitter.

But the mother to 7-month-old Maxwell Drew, "will not be following the [weight loss] program during the pregnancy while her weight and well-being are monitored by her obstetrician," Weight Watchers said in a statement.

But, will they sing to each others former fat selves?
tiki876 2nd-Jan-2013 12:59 am (UTC)
Lmao
sowhat_whocares 1st-Jan-2013 10:16 pm (UTC)
why does jessica's face look so fucked up? is that really cuz of pregnancy bloat? she's looked like that in a lot of photos recently. it makes her teeth looked fucked up when they arent, as well...idk.
bananasnrum 1st-Jan-2013 10:21 pm (UTC)
because when she looked normal, ie nick lachey years, she was 40 lbs lighter.
putyohandsonme 1st-Jan-2013 10:27 pm (UTC)
And 10 years younger...
sowhat_whocares 1st-Jan-2013 10:37 pm (UTC)
ya but she's fairly thin in this photo still? IDK, her lips look bloated her nose looks super wide, her eyes look squinty and her teeth look all weird. if thats just regular old weight gain then, fuck. getting on my bike...
frenchverbs 2nd-Jan-2013 12:31 am (UTC)
She also said she was starving herself and was treating her body like shit during this time, so hmm.
callmemaybeplz 1st-Jan-2013 10:29 pm (UTC)
Her face changed during her pregnancy, and she's not as thin as she was so her features look odd with extra weight.
paarycia 1st-Jan-2013 11:03 pm (UTC)
I just think that some people's facial features look good with extra weight (Jennifer Hudson) while some don't (Jessica Simpson).
sarahvma 1st-Jan-2013 11:32 pm (UTC)
Rapid weight loss is a bitch on your skin.
sastra_fuss 1st-Jan-2013 11:56 pm (UTC)
her eyebrows are waaay too light. people without visible eyebrows always look weird as fuck
cass_star 2nd-Jan-2013 12:12 am (UTC)
JESSICA'S face looks fucked up? I'm not a fan of hers at all but I think she looks fine. Jennifer on the other hand...
november_love 2nd-Jan-2013 02:58 am (UTC)
Why does Jennifer's face look so fucked up? What's with the folds from her smile?
platinumpinup 1st-Jan-2013 10:17 pm (UTC)
I cannot stand J. Hud. Ever since the "SATC" movie and her stupid W.W. commercial that she sings in. It's always playing on t.v. :/
misscrystal 1st-Jan-2013 10:19 pm (UTC)
Suuuunn in dah skaa-aaaaahh, u no how ah feeeeeeelll
platinumpinup 1st-Jan-2013 10:20 pm (UTC)
Ugh, that's the one. Lol! :)
ponpiri 1st-Jan-2013 11:14 pm (UTC)
Couldn't stand her since AI <3
cricketgrl 2nd-Jan-2013 12:32 am (UTC)
She looks absolutely horrible since she lost the weight. She looks old and very wrinkled, IMO.
misscrystal 1st-Jan-2013 10:18 pm (UTC)
Has JSimpson has plastic surgery? Her face looks weird here.
callmemaybeplz 1st-Jan-2013 10:31 pm (UTC)
Maybe cosmetic surgery, but I don't think plastic.

Her face looked different (weird) during her last pregnancy. Her features don't hold up well when she's pregnant.
aleronihead 2nd-Jan-2013 04:14 am (UTC)
I'm pretty sure plastic surgery is any surgery done to the face
_scarlett_icons 1st-Jan-2013 10:19 pm (UTC)
ugh I really need to lose 20lbs this year.

clarelove 1st-Jan-2013 10:20 pm (UTC)
Jennifer Hudson's face looks like melting rubber LAWD. Weight loss is rarely good for the face, unless you have a face like http://www.kiss925.com/files/June-Shannon-600-400.jpg

And even then, I think all that skin would sag, no?

Anyway, I'm a dick. I hate ragging on women's bodies but I judge faces like the asshole I am.

sarahvma 1st-Jan-2013 11:33 pm (UTC)
Weight loss doesn't have to be terrible for your skin, but super rapid weight loss definitely is. Especially if you're following a low-fat, low-calorie plan like WW.
revertigo 1st-Jan-2013 11:39 pm (UTC)
people need to not neglect their healthy fats and proteins
misscrystal 1st-Jan-2013 10:21 pm (UTC)
Ugh, and I'm so pissed that I waited too long to return the new running shoes I got to Zappos because when I tried to order new ones, all the sizes for that style were gone :( Fucking resolutioners.
smasherette 2nd-Jan-2013 12:00 am (UTC)
I found my favorite asics at DSW for about $30 cheaper than online. I feel you though, that's happened to me before.
6pennylane 2nd-Jan-2013 02:57 am (UTC)
if they are a nordstrom brand...then take them back there....
xcollsangelx 1st-Jan-2013 10:21 pm (UTC)
Jennifer Hudson looks like a lollipop.

crucified 1st-Jan-2013 10:23 pm (UTC)
Jennifer Hudson's face looks awful.
ugly_jacket 1st-Jan-2013 10:23 pm (UTC)
Ugh weight watchers scarred me for life I think I just had a bad leader but they taught me some really disordered shit... never again
alicel 1st-Jan-2013 10:37 pm (UTC)

Who else is trying to lose weight in 2013? I want to lose 15-20 lbs.
callmemaybeplz 1st-Jan-2013 10:29 pm (UTC)
I don't want to lose weight (male, 5'5" 145lbs) but I want to tone up. Joined a gym last week :D
donnanoble 1st-Jan-2013 10:31 pm (UTC)
Me. I'd like to lose 20-30. I'm going on a ski trip till the 6th and when I get back I'm going to start calorie counting. I did that earlier this year and lost 10 lbs so I know it works for me.
roguezombie 1st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
How many calories a day do you eat a day when you count? I always get recommended 1200 (because I am short and don't exercise) but I always feel really hungry. But then I feel massively guilty when I go over the number and usually end up binging.
callingstars 1st-Jan-2013 10:37 pm (UTC)
me. i've lost 35lbs since october and i'd like to keep going.
alicel 1st-Jan-2013 10:37 pm (UTC)
i'm in the process of getting down to 120-ish. already lost 27lbs, about 20 to go. :)
laceandskin 1st-Jan-2013 10:38 pm (UTC)
I want to lose only 5 pounds but I know that it's going to be an uphill battle.
supermishelle 1st-Jan-2013 10:39 pm (UTC)
I need to lose 30 pounds in order to be within a healthy BMI range. My cousin and I are working out together and we're eating healthier so hopefully by 2014 I'll reach my goal.
galagooo 1st-Jan-2013 10:39 pm (UTC)
I've been working out religiously for the past 3 months. I don't want to lose weight necessarily, but put on muscle mass and lose fat.
joyeuxcherie 1st-Jan-2013 10:40 pm (UTC)
Want to lose 30-40 and work on a healthier mental state too !
sowhat_whocares 1st-Jan-2013 10:41 pm (UTC)
I want to lose 55!

I am only 10lbs above my 'healthy weight' range, tbh...but my body is naturally very thin and I have a lot of extra weight right now so for me, healthy is 55lbs thinner.

just gonna try being more active, eating healthier and cleaner, etc.
klmnumbers 1st-Jan-2013 10:42 pm (UTC)
i want to lose 20!
sadisticsidhe 1st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
Moi! I just need to start eating better. I was so good and then school started and there went that. I want to loose about 15-20 also. I would be happy with 10 though.
deltabean 1st-Jan-2013 10:49 pm (UTC)
About 10-15 lbs. I need to be healthy about it, and that's gonna be the hard part :/
carolina_girl85 1st-Jan-2013 10:49 pm (UTC)
I need to lose more like 70lbs. I kept losing and gaining back after my son was born and the lbs just kept creeping back up on me. I'm the biggest I've ever been in my life and I'm supposed to get married in June. I feel horrible about myself when I should be the happiest :/
astormatsea 1st-Jan-2013 10:51 pm (UTC)
2012 was a year of BC, bad eating and zero exercise. aka i need to lose 20 lbs but i can't stop stuffing my face with junk
tori100186 1st-Jan-2013 10:52 pm (UTC)
I started losing weight last year, I've lost 40 lbs so far and I've still got 20 lbs to go. I've been taking it slow for a couple of months now but I want to reach my goal weight before by the spring or beginning of summer.

Goal is to lose 30lbs. I was on my way until I had two surgeries that kept me inactive and nearly gained it all back. Not happening this time around.
withoutyoursmil 1st-Jan-2013 10:57 pm (UTC)
i do want to lose weight but i haven't set that as my ~goal. i think ideally i'd like to lise 15-20 lbs, but i don't know whether having a specific number in my head actually helps or hinders me. right now i'm just trying to take it day by day and meal plan/exercise more
tadashee 1st-Jan-2013 10:58 pm (UTC)
I want to lose 30 pounds. I cannot loose weight over the school year especially withput a kitchen, but I really want to try. I bought barrys boot camp classes. I really like them, so hopefully f I continuously do them and eat less carbs I can lose some weight!
ebertrules 1st-Jan-2013 11:05 pm (UTC)
I want to lose 10-15 lbs. off to an amazing start. i had pizza for breakfast and lunch -_-

Me! I want to lose 20 or so pounds by the time summer starts.
ponpiri 1st-Jan-2013 11:16 pm (UTC)
10-15

My eating is pretty good now, but I need to cut more sweets out of my diet. I need to work on the amount of time I spend exercising as well.
emerica9283 1st-Jan-2013 11:22 pm (UTC)
I want to lose one size. I lost 45 lbs this past year. I just have one size left to lose from 7 to 5 jeans and I'll be good.
my_moloko 1st-Jan-2013 11:22 pm (UTC)
I have a ton of weight to lose (like, over 100 lbs). I know I won't lose it all this year but I want to get the ball rolling. I've realized that I know deep down what I need to do, it's just a matter of doing it. But I am willing to share some tips and stuff if anyone wants.
ediesedgwick 1st-Jan-2013 11:22 pm (UTC)
idc about weight but i want to get back to my former level of fitness. This fall was a mess so I lost a lot of my muscle tone. At least it comes back in a couple months :/
misscrystal 1st-Jan-2013 11:25 pm (UTC)
I lost 30 pounds last year, but I gained some back. I've been trying to get back on track since November and I'm making progress.
ludagurl3d 1st-Jan-2013 11:29 pm (UTC)
i don't want to lose anything, i just want to eat better so my mental health improves. tired of being depressed.

winegums 1st-Jan-2013 11:35 pm (UTC)
I want to shed at least 10 pounds and get back to the shape I had in 2010, maybe 15 but dnw to lose it all at once/starve and end up looking like JHud in the face, nty
sarahvma 1st-Jan-2013 11:35 pm (UTC)
I'm down 25 pounds since September and am aiming for more this year, but I don't want to put a definite number on it so that I'm not disappointed. Nice and steady is the way to go.
drunkagron 1st-Jan-2013 11:39 pm (UTC)
I'm not losing weight. I just want to be toned and not so out of shape. I want to get back to eating healthy too. Depression and the holidays did me in.
shortliljackers 1st-Jan-2013 11:42 pm (UTC)
meeeeee.

i'm not overweight, but i gained a little bit of weight the past few years and it sucks.

so i got back into running and i'm running a half marathon in may...people keep telling me i've lost weight, so yahhh.
awkwardmumbles 1st-Jan-2013 11:45 pm (UTC)
40 lbs by may would put me at 135
luvlorn 1st-Jan-2013 11:58 pm (UTC)
Me, but I am always wanting to, but then I always fall off the wagon. But lately I haven't been feeling so great and my shitty junk food and lack of exercise is probably not helping so I'm going to try harder to get healthy and weight loss with probably be a side effect.
kalikat003 2nd-Jan-2013 12:00 am (UTC)
oh, me me! I am planning to lose 50lbs!
smasherette 2nd-Jan-2013 12:03 am (UTC)
I lost 35lbs in 2011 and have gained 10 pounds since. It's really not so bad, but I intend to exercise several times/week no matter what, and every so often I'll be more strict with my diet. That's pretty much how I lost the weight initially. I just want to have a healthy-ish lifestyle, since I definitely didn't grow up with one.
wingslapped 2nd-Jan-2013 12:18 am (UTC)
I want to lose fat and gain muscle. I'm storing it on my back, stomach, and upper thighs. I lost 15 in the later part of last year, but health problems knocked me off the exercise wagon in December.
rambling_road 2nd-Jan-2013 12:23 am (UTC)
I am. I joined WW for a bit last year and it sort of worked, gonna try something different this year. I really hope it works... I really want to lose at least 40 lbs :/
alienclit 2nd-Jan-2013 12:36 am (UTC)
I gained like 5-10 lbs being at my parents' house over our goddamn 7 week break and I just want to fit into my 2s comfortably again without any impression of a muffin top AT ALL. I feel kinda unhealthy saying this because I am thin rn, it's just I was thinner a couple of months ago and I want to be where I was then.
sorya86 2nd-Jan-2013 12:41 am (UTC)
meeeeee, but I´ve been wanting to lose those last 15-20 lbs for like five years, lol. I really need to work out more, I always feel better about myself when I do, but it´s hard with school.
bioshe 2nd-Jan-2013 01:01 am (UTC)
I lost 50lbs last year and want to lose another 40lbs.

I did it by not counting calories. I have simple rules for myself. If I eat a carb, I always pair it with a protein to minimize insulin spikes and I ONLY eat complex carbs. Along with those two rules, my diet consists of lots of raw or steamed veggies, good fats (like nuts), and some fruits. I basically keep a balanced diet of 25% proteins, 25% complex carbs, and 25% good fats (yogurt, 1% milk, good cheeses) with veggies & fruits in between. Along with a balanced diet, I do 3-4 workouts a week of 20-40 minutes of high-interval cardio on the treadmill. HIIT is one of the most effective methods for fat loss but can be very strenuous depending on how you do it.

I found the Insulin-Resistance diet to be a great basis for constructing my own diet. I started eating better because of it the last two years and it's very easy for me to lose weight now.

It's just trying to maintain it that can be hard... but I have other stress in my life right now that has stunted my progress.
another_grl 2nd-Jan-2013 01:17 am (UTC)
I need to shed serious pounds. Like a good 20. But mainly I want to tone up.

I'm going back to doing Zumba, but I'm going to use Youtube because most of the classes are too early (I don't get home from work until after 7.)
whitewatergirl 2nd-Jan-2013 01:20 am (UTC)
I lost 12 lbs last year and felt great, but then I had to get steroids for a medical condition and bam! Gained 15 lbs in a month. So I'd like to get those pounds back off, but I don't know if I'm medically cleared to do so as of yet. Sigh.
preciate_ya 2nd-Jan-2013 01:43 am (UTC)
Me. I weigh the most I've ever weighed in my life, and can barely fit into my clothes comfortably. I'm hoping to lose between 30-40 lbs.
Plus there are weddings to attend!

I'm 59 kg, I want to get back to my weight two years ago which was 50kg. So I want to lose 9kg I know it's gonna be pretty hard since I'm fairly thin already (I'm 175cm) but I'm determined!

I'm not trying to lose weight, but I want to get back into shape and be healthy again (in terms of diet, when I went to college that pretty much went to shit) so pretty much the same steps.
