I saw the Hobbit, it was everything I ever thought it could be! :)
drewy88 1st-Jan-2013 09:05 pm (UTC)
GUILT TRIP was so good! WTF
I want to go back and see it with my mom :')
misscrystal25 2nd-Jan-2013 12:32 am (UTC)
Agreed! My boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. And I'm not really a Seth Rogan fan. He and Streisand worked really well together.
ms_mmelissa 1st-Jan-2013 09:06 pm (UTC)
I saw The Master. Kind of disappointed to be honest. All the pieces were really nice, but the result felt kind of blah.
moddchicc 1st-Jan-2013 09:13 pm (UTC)
The narrative/script was a mess, which is a bummer since PTA is a great screenwriter.
fauxkaren 1st-Jan-2013 09:17 pm (UTC)
I was super disappointed in The Master.
brokenseas 1st-Jan-2013 09:21 pm (UTC)
The Master was not enjoyable for me. It felt beyond empty. Besides the performances there was nothing to the film, imo.
baratheon 2nd-Jan-2013 12:29 am (UTC)
ia. joaquin was rly good and i love pta but it just fell flat
awkwardmumbles 1st-Jan-2013 09:06 pm (UTC)

shadyoutkast 1st-Jan-2013 09:09 pm (UTC)
he was so charming in django.
_andrea 1st-Jan-2013 09:14 pm (UTC)
he was perfection in the film and had great chemistry with just about everyone. i can see him winning best supporting actor.

holdmedownxx 1st-Jan-2013 09:37 pm (UTC)
i loved this
suburban_war 1st-Jan-2013 10:02 pm (UTC)
best line IMO
fauxkaren 1st-Jan-2013 09:21 pm (UTC)

daydream11 1st-Jan-2013 10:07 pm (UTC)
I developed a crush I didn't even know I could get.
sandvich 1st-Jan-2013 10:22 pm (UTC)
Christoph is the definition of a silver fox.
lovelyeli 1st-Jan-2013 11:00 pm (UTC)
im so glad he did this movie because i feel like after IB we were losing bb christoph a bit.
hypermuseic9 1st-Jan-2013 11:54 pm (UTC)
ugh he was so fucking perfect. i need him in my life.

smh i need icons too so i can stan for this flawless person
for_serious13 2nd-Jan-2013 01:50 am (UTC)
He is AMAZING

I love the success he's getting. very deserved
yummymarsbars 2nd-Jan-2013 02:28 am (UTC)
I think he's wonderful. He works so well with Tarantino. He was incredible in IB and I loved his turn as a "good guy" in Django. Easily my favorite character.
_dennis_csi_ 1st-Jan-2013 09:07 pm (UTC)
finally life of pi,amour and anna karenina came here. Can't wait to see them in a week and if I have any money left then I'll probably see jack reacher too
theblackwidow 1st-Jan-2013 09:23 pm (UTC)
Life of Pi is SOOOOOOOOOOO good. Definitely see it in 3D
holdmedownxx 1st-Jan-2013 09:38 pm (UTC)
amouuuuuurrrr! i saw like half of this at afi fest and i need to see the rest.
aka_plynn 1st-Jan-2013 11:29 pm (UTC)
Seconding the rec to see Life of Pi in 3D if you can. I usually don't like 3D, but this ... this really worked. It's so fucking gorgeous.
forgethissmile 6th-Jan-2013 02:13 am (UTC)
I'm hesitant about the Life of Pi. I loved, loved, loved the book, but I remember the book being a LOT darker than the movie previews make out the movie to be. I was majorly disappointed with the Hunger Games movie, and I don't think I can handle two mediocre based-on-favorite-book movies in a row.
forgethissmile 6th-Jan-2013 02:14 am (UTC)
Jesus I just realized this post is from the first. Dammit, Featured Posts, get it together.
bananasnrum 1st-Jan-2013 09:08 pm (UTC)
I saw The Hobbit 48 fps and actually enjoyed it a lot. Also saw Django, which was a lot of fun but also rightfully disturbing. Tarantino did a very good job of conveying how shitty that era was and how not much has even changed.
shadyoutkast 1st-Jan-2013 09:08 pm (UTC)
i saw django. leo for all of the awards. also, my love for kerry washington has tripled.
yummymarsbars 2nd-Jan-2013 02:30 am (UTC)
Leo was so, so evil. I loved him as Candie.
ztrellitaa 1st-Jan-2013 09:09 pm (UTC)
I haven't gone to the movies in a while, last movie I saw was Looper and damn was I dissapointed.
redaodai 1st-Jan-2013 09:10 pm (UTC)
I had no expectations of Looper, but I was still disappointed.
ztrellitaa 1st-Jan-2013 09:12 pm (UTC)
I read so many reviews saying that it was as good as "Moon", best sci-fi movie since it and the sorts, but no. It's nowhere near Moon.

Also JGL's makeup kept me distracted, I felt that it looked different at times.
bananasnrum 1st-Jan-2013 09:16 pm (UTC)
yeah it could have been good, but that third and final act was so stupid.
theblackwidow 1st-Jan-2013 09:22 pm (UTC)
I was so pissed off when I saw it because ONTD acted like it was the second coming of Blade Runner and no dice.
fauxparadiso 1st-Jan-2013 09:55 pm (UTC)
I just watched it today. They're damn lucky it came out before the Newtown massacre.
williammiller 3rd-Jan-2013 12:26 am (UTC)
I think the last movie I saw in in theaters was Cosmopolis
_andrea 1st-Jan-2013 09:11 pm (UTC)
I saw Django with my parents last night because I didn't want to be at some lame ass new years eve party with my friend (and I made an awesome decision because some major friend fights happened). Overall though, DJANGO WAS AMAZING, EPIC, BRILLIANT, MARVELOUS AND MORE! ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS FILM !!!

Also, this fine man was perfection in the film. Great villain and I'd still go there.
loverelapse 1st-Jan-2013 09:20 pm (UTC)
so excited to see it!
theblackwidow 1st-Jan-2013 09:21 pm (UTC)
yeah it was amazing
sarahvma 1st-Jan-2013 09:37 pm (UTC)
NYE parties are always a let down, either because they're not that great or because everyone just gets shitfaced.

But the worst is that the second after the clock strikes twelve, everyone loses their damn mind -- fighting, crying, vomiting, etc.

Plus, I'm a feminist and all, but I cannot STAND the girls who scream-talk the whole night (even when there's hardly any music) and act like it's SO crazy that they're getting shitfaced while playing King's Cup. Next time bring your big girl pants and learn how to drink.
paulmitchell 1st-Jan-2013 09:45 pm (UTC)
you are speaking truth, yesterday i was sick puking so i picked my boyfriend up from his work party and his co-workers friend was screaming pissed off for no reason, calling a guy a faggot just being sooo ridiculous she sounded like a yapping dog. i was about to kick her out of the car for saying faggot and for making my headache ten times worse
buttermell0w 1st-Jan-2013 10:11 pm (UTC)
right omg i wish i stayed home last night

i got some food with two of my friends after midnight and there was this rlly annoying guy sitting next to us and spewing this really sexist shit and i was trying to be polite and asking him to stop and he legit was like "NO IM NOT STOPPING" and i just couldn't, i had enough. so after i finished my meal i gave one of my friends cash and told him i was leaving and i guess he didn't relay the message to my other friend and instead told her i was outside waiting for them but instead i had gone home (grabbed a cab) and she like flipped out on me, called me started yelling at me for leaving them i was just like.....what the fuck? i was uncomfortable and left and went home like we are adults i dont need to wait for both of you outside to go home wtf. and then she wanted to come get her stuff (she got ready at my house) from my place and so i packed it up for her and i guess i forgot some of her makeup so i call to tell her and she started screaming at me that i was a horrible person i was like omg i legit canNOT right now. and then she called me today like it was no big deal and i was just like honestly i think i just need some space from you right now. and the other friend that was there IMed me today and was like "just so you know i agree with [my friend] on this" im like, why are you evening getting involved in this issue it doesn't concern you dude, she called me a horrible person flipped out for me leaving bc a situation at a restaurant made me uncomfortable and now is acting like it's no big deal like no i have a right to be upset and annoyed at her tbh.

lmao sorry this was so tl;dr
theratwhispers 1st-Jan-2013 09:11 pm (UTC)
lol wat, that Parental Guidance already made all of his money back. LOL I can't. It looks like something from VHS in the early 90s.
beating_heartss 1st-Jan-2013 09:12 pm (UTC)
It's one of the only family movies out right now and it's out during th eholiday's, that's why it made lots of money
theratwhispers 1st-Jan-2013 09:16 pm (UTC)
I guess so. I'm just lolling at it.
sandstorm 1st-Jan-2013 09:19 pm (UTC)
I don't even think kids would want to see this.
beating_heartss 1st-Jan-2013 09:11 pm (UTC)
I'M SEEING LES MIS IN TWO HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I SAW ZERO DARK THIRTY LAST WEEK AND MY MIND WAS BLOWN
lovekrista 1st-Jan-2013 10:41 pm (UTC)
how did you like it?
beating_heartss 1st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
It was very long but I think it had to be because it starts at 9/11 and ends with the death of Osama. It's definitely more about Jessica Chastain's characters journey than it is about getting Osama, a character piece (lol). Overall, a good movie to watch in the theater because of how tense it gets at times. I jumped at one moment lol so embarrassing. The build up though was disappointing because the ending was very, "Oh, alright."
azn_trang 2nd-Jan-2013 07:56 am (UTC)
How was Jessica's performance? There's so many trailers and they barely showed any of her lines/scenes :(
moddchicc 1st-Jan-2013 09:11 pm (UTC)
Saw Django Unchained on Saturday and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would since I generally find Tarantino overrated. Everyone in the film was phenomenal (except QT, his acting is still embarrassing, lol) and I really dug the soundtrack. I wish Kerry/Hilday had more screentime/backstory though, because I found her character interesting.
conveythemelody 1st-Jan-2013 09:15 pm (UTC)
Tarantino's accent was all over the place.
bodylikemind 1st-Jan-2013 09:29 pm (UTC)
ia i didn't even realize he was supposed to be australian at first
goofusgallant 1st-Jan-2013 10:30 pm (UTC)
ikr
hypermuseic9 1st-Jan-2013 11:55 pm (UTC)
mte i couldn't even tell what kind of accent it was supposed to be
baratheon 2nd-Jan-2013 12:32 am (UTC)
it was so cringeworthy
holyfrijoles_2 1st-Jan-2013 09:26 pm (UTC)
I wish QT would stop acting in his own films, it's always the worst part for me.
an_tan 1st-Jan-2013 09:13 pm (UTC)
saw the hobbit for the 4th time, oop
conveythemelody 1st-Jan-2013 09:13 pm (UTC)
I saw this is 40 and Django this weekend. Both were enjoyable.
redaodai 1st-Jan-2013 09:14 pm (UTC)
I watched John Dies at the End last night. It was strange. But I love Rob Mayes' eyebrows.

Now I'm rewatching the beginning of Supernatural season 6. I dropped out while it was airing and lost interest, but am bored. And I kind of didn't want to continue with Nip/Tuck right now after that circumcision scene. Um.
safaiagem 1st-Jan-2013 11:50 pm (UTC)
FUCK YEAH JDATE. I saw it at Sundance and I just got it On Demand the other day. I think I'll watch it tonight :D
