Kings of Leon Nathan Followill and Jessie Baylin welcome baby girl

Nathan Followill and his wife Jessie Baylin welcomed daughter Violet Marlowe Followill on Wednesday, Dec. 26 in Nashville, his rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“Mom, Dad and baby are doing well and are so in love!” a rep for the band says.

Violet, who was born at 4:01 p.m. weighing 7 lbs., 13 oz, is the first child for the Kings of Leon drummer, 33, and the singer/songwriter, 28, who announced the pregnancy in June.

“I’m beyond excited/anxious,” Followill, who wed Baylin in November 2009, Tweeted at the time of the announcement.

Baby girl is in good company — she joins cousins Dixie Pearl, the daughter of frontman Caleb Followill and Lily Aldridge, and Knox Cameron Patrick, the son of guitarist Matthew Followill.

Best KoL baby name tbh
lovemee12 28th-Dec-2012 12:21 am (UTC)
Aww, Violet is such a pretty name. A girl I work with just named her daughter Viola. I don't think I like that so much.
ellie_andrews 28th-Dec-2012 12:39 am (UTC)
Viola makes me think of Miss Nelson is Missing lol

thesilverymoon 28th-Dec-2012 01:25 am (UTC)
Aw, I like Viola. But only because of Twelfth Night. Otherwise I probably wouldn't like it that much.
__nocturna 28th-Dec-2012 02:56 am (UTC)
That is weird. Its like naming your kid Violin, or Clarinet.

I loooove Amelia. But I think it's gaining in popularity which ALWAYS happens with names I like. >:|
croutonochrist Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 12:55 am (UTC)
I love Amelia because, DUH, Amelia Earhart (and also maybe Amelia Bedelia). But the only Amelia I've ever known was a tryhard, poser hipster bitch who bragged about her boyfriend being from Wales. I did not enjoy her, so the name kind of soured for me.
anabanana0714 Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 12:59 am (UTC)
I used to love it too, but then I learned in my embryonic biology class that amelia is actually the name of the condition where a child is born with no arms/not fully formed arms.
verstand Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 01:22 am (UTC)
Two friends of mine named their baby Amelia and I was like NOOO THAT WAS MY FUTURE BABY'S NAME. Still gonna use it, suck it. They call her Amy anyway.
whiskybars Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 01:06 am (UTC)
i never want to have kids like ever but if i do then definitely

enzo or julian for boys

blevo81 Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 01:12 am (UTC)
My husband vetoed Amelia :( Also had the name Henry for about 6 years (its all boys on my husband's side), two girls later....
thesilverymoon Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 01:30 am (UTC)

My go to middle names would probably be Edward (if a child didn't have that name already), Ross, Marlis, Richard, Virginia, Joan, or Markoff
rinanina101 Re: baby names 28th-Dec-2012 01:52 am (UTC)
when i was little i wanted to name my baby laquaishanay. all my barbies and babydolls were called that.

but i saw the light.

if i have a girl a wanna name her Cassandra. cassie for short.
or isis.
or alexandria
or natalia
i've always liked the name narcissa but people would think i'm weird to name my kid after a hp character. But i just really really like that name.

boy would be damon or adrian or alexander

Dixie is such a tryhard WE'RE SOUTHERN name. And I feel like Pearl is the new Rose of overused celebrity baby middle names.
wanderlust_zzz 28th-Dec-2012 12:30 am (UTC)
ikr. I'm surprised they didn't go with dixie rebel.
croutonochrist 28th-Dec-2012 12:25 am (UTC)
Pretty name, but I almost feel like it should be reversed. I think "Marlowe Violet" sounds better.
anna_bea2 28th-Dec-2012 12:26 am (UTC)

for the life of me i cannot figure out this one line in "i want you".

is it "black cat with the gift down below" or "black guy with the gift down below" or "black eye..." i kind of just mumble it. lmao.
wanderlust_zzz 28th-Dec-2012 12:34 am (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it's "black guy with the gift down bellow".
thalassaemia 28th-Dec-2012 02:45 am (UTC)
google tells me it's "black eye".
