I have no desire to see this but I have to thank it for rekindling a LOTR craze in me. Much to the annoyance of anyone who is my friend.
warsawed 27th-Dec-2012 10:46 pm (UTC)
If you love LOTR you need to see this. I was surprised at how much I loved it tbh.

I wasn't even that excite at first tbh but just got back from seeing it for the 2nd time and OMG

Everyone is old and/or ugly tho /shallow. Plus I have never been that interested in Bilbo's story. Altho the old 70s cartoon version is fun to watch for laughs.
mjspice 28th-Dec-2012 03:48 pm (UTC)
Exactly. I'm still fangirling over it.

I take that back. This is about a squatter taking over someone's house, and the journey through the courts (of battle) to get their property back.

The main guy's dad moved when he was a little and he was super pissed about it. So now he, with a bunch of his friends, are off to fuck up the new owner. Shenanigans ensue.

No, this is a The Hobbit movie. If you mean if it's a Middle-Earth film; yes, you are correct.

the 15 seconds of screen time he got, thranduil really used them to bring out his persona of queen with an attitude

HE IS SO PERFECT! Laaaaaaawd. Only had 15 seconds, and yet he stole the film. I can't

When I heard the Hobbit was getting its own film, I was terrified that the movie's version of him would disappoint me. But the moment I saw his promo pics, I knew I was meant to fall in love all over again.

i enjoyed it a lot, but the orcs were terrible.
koalafrog 27th-Dec-2012 11:03 pm (UTC)
I thought it was really corny and overly dependent on "ooooh! look at all the pretty CGI!~*~*~*" like way more so than the LotR flicks. It was enjoyable, but felt more like a too long kid's movie. With bonus decapitated head.
soramai 27th-Dec-2012 11:25 pm (UTC)
really ? why ? I loved it.
kvetch_kvetch 27th-Dec-2012 11:44 pm (UTC)

I saw it 48 hfr and IMAX and 3D and blablabla I rather wish I went to the 2D version.

Because I DEFFO wanted to see it again.
devolute 27th-Dec-2012 10:15 pm (UTC)
i am so curious about the 48 hfr but i know i would prefer regular 2d
therearewords 27th-Dec-2012 11:19 pm (UTC)
The colours were bright but during some wild rollercoaster-ish action scenes it just turned into moving colours and shapes for me. Wouldn't recommend it.
gigglyvapidslut 27th-Dec-2012 11:50 pm (UTC)
i wish i saw it in reg 2d because at 48fps some movements looked like somebody hit fast forward and the colours seemed prettier when i took off my 3d glasses to check
verdhandi 27th-Dec-2012 11:27 pm (UTC)
I went to see the 48 HFR / 3D version and I really enjoyed how much more clear the pictures were. I'm not sure if you went to see it that way for the first time, you'd notice much of a difference but I had already seen it in normal 3D twice and HFR was so much clearer. I don't recall it ever turning blurry at any point, even during the action sequences. But I hear some theatres are still having some issues with it or something.
showmesara 27th-Dec-2012 11:36 pm (UTC)
I really enjoyed the 48 HFR :/
