Internet protocol (IP) addresses associated with several major Hollywood studios were recently logged using bittorrent networks to share films created by rival studios, according to a report on peer-to-peer blog TorrentFreak.
Working with the bittorrent tracking service ScanEye, TorrentFreak identified IP addresses registered to Paramount, Disney, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures sharing films, television shows and games. A “WhoIs” search confirms one of the addresses TorrentFreak published does indeed belong to Paramount.
The same studios are the principle driving force behind the forthcoming “six strikes” anti-piracy scheme that will log IP addresses engaged in media piracy and deliver warnings to users.

well sirs, allow me to shake my middle finger to you!
However it kinda bugs me when people act like pirating is nbd. If you created something and then people spread it around and didn't pay for it, wouldn't you be pissed? I know the whole ~you wouldn't steal a car~ thing was kind of lolworthy but isn't it basically true?
I'm not gonna lie, obvs I've downloaded music and movies illegally before but I'm not gonna kid myself and act like its not stealing. If you really like a particular movie/album/tv show then why would you steal it, don't you want to support all of the people who helped create it?
Is pirating wrong? Yes. Techically it is stealing. But what I think people (and studios in particular) assume that you are stealing something you would actually watch. I think that's why (some) people don't feel as bad?
I paid to see Prometheus, THG, The Hobbit, TDKR, The Avengers, Django Unchained, etc. Movies that I wanted to see, or director's/actors I wanted to support.
I did not pay for Resident Evil 5 because they ruined the RE franchise, and I only watch it to bitch about how not canon they are (though before they pissed me off I paid to see 2 out of 5 of the movies). I didn't pay to watch Breaking Dawn pt 2, but I watched it for the lols online because it's bad. Same with a movie like BattleShip.
I usually dl things that I would have never ever paid to see anyway, and only watch them because they are easily accessible at that exact moment (i.e. tons of seeds so will dl in like 5-10 mins), so it feels less harmful? Idk if this is making sense... But yeah.
and like current sales show, if it's quality enough and was marketed well people will pay for it.
Also poor and jobless so I have to limit what i purchase.
Speaking of which, is there a good quality copy of Rise of the Guardians yet?
