I kind of want to sign up for a spinning class... I have really bad knees and running is out of the question for weight loss... any tips? Do any of you spin? I'm really overweight so would it be too much for my fat ass? lol

I'm kind of curious as to how intense it is.

i don't go to my spin class anymore but when i did it was pretty intense for me. you can go on your own pace though but i would force myself to do more than i could. does ellipticle hurt your knees?

I haven't been on an elliptical in a long time but my physical therapist says those are a good option for knees.

I'm thinking about getting a gym membership because PT is killing my wallet and honestly, I can do all the exercises they have me do at a gym.... I just wish I could find a quiet gym. I live in a heavily populated area, the gyms here are always so friggin' packed and I get up too early to squeeze a workout in during the morning.

spinning is tough, but don't let it discourage you. a lot of times the instructor will call for you to stand up on your bike, and if it's too much, you can remain seated but still pedal away. you also have the ability to adjust your resistance yourself... so you don't always have to be near puke.

i think it's one of those things that if you actually stick with it, you'll see your endurance increase and you'll be proud of your own progress. i think it's one of the tougher cardio classes, but if you go in knowing that.. and that it's ok to sit down, it might make it more manageable in the long run.

loud music and someone eggin' me on always gets me motivated too!
