this would've been a pretty decent trailer if it weren't for the top 40 nonsense.... i think it says something about the movie if they resort to using mainstream music to convey the emotion of the film....
leo's affected voice is awful and patchy and he doesn't give off the right vibe for the part, tobey is just totally miscast, and carey is too innocent looking (but not the worst)
that's why i love them. i bought r+j a long time ago after i saw it in my freshman english class and 8 years later i'm still like "the fuck am i watching? this is a mess. idgaf. loving it." they're just ridiculous.
It honestly gave me Romeo and Juliet realness feels. And I'm willing to give it a watch and see what I think. He does know how to make people feel like it's all a clusterfuck initially with his music selection. Itt's all very strategic.
I was on the fence before, but I really like this trailer. I'm pretty sure I thought the same about Romeo+Juliet before it came out, and I think it's one of the best film adaptations ever.
WHAT
I know. I started laugh crying when they started emo screaming the lyrics.
