“Dirty Laundry” – Sherlock and Joan investigate the murder of the general manager of a high-end Manhattan hotel whose body is found inside an industrial laundry machine. Meanwhile, since Joan’s time with Sherlock is almost up, he offers her an apprenticeship, on ELEMENTARY, Thursday, Jan. 3 (10:01-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

It's actually, I think, far more canon for Sherlock to be polite as he often was in the original stories. He was a bit awkward and eccentric -- but he didn't hurt people's feelings, intentionally or otherwise -- and he always showed a lot of affection for both Lestrade and Watson.

I had trouble concentrating because I had finish The Hour like 30 minutes before Elementary came on and I was a mess. And isn't Moriarty suppose to be in the next one?

SERIOUSLY IN LOVE WITH THE EPISODE. The whole first act with Sherlock at the bank vault with Joan was hilarious, and then just waltzing off with all the jewels and painting from the master thief's house was so funny, Sherlock looked so proud and admired the painting when he hung it up. Even though Sherlock played it down when he complimented Joan at dinner with her parents I'm sure that he meant it :)

Tumblr people suggested maybe his 'contact' in london was Irene? idk.

BEST EPISODE SO FAR IMO.

I doubt he'd casually mention his contact like that if it was Irene (given how he reacted when Joan found out about her). Also, his phone said "Harrison" when she responded with the algorithm

She isn't. Rob Doherty (the EP) said way before that episode about her being dead that they were bringing her into an episode before the end of the first season.

omg Sherlock was SO SWEET.

I was actually in shock at how conversationally sound and social he was! damn. impressed.

missed 15 minutes of the start of the episode but this case seemed really interesting? granted I know nothing about art yet I was ~enticed. btw it was really adorable that Joan was cleaning up as her mom was there. SO ME.

btw a body found inside a washing machine for the next ep? sorta reminding me of pushing daisies.

Heh, I knew all the stans were gonna lose their minds when he was praising her at the dinner with their family, and then of course he had to go & ruin it by saying he didn't mean it. I like this show a lot, and yet I still have a slightly trolly view of it. But, well, anyway, I like that it was Joan's mother who pointed out that she genuinely enjoys helping to solve cases; it worked a lot better than if it was Sherlock himself who kind of instructed her how to change her life (since I think we can assume she won't really be moving on to a new client any time soon). Obviously he wants her to stay, but I like that it came from another source.
