Daniel Radcliffe hits the sauce, is asked to leave bar

Is Harry Potter off the wagon? Sources tell Page Six that Daniel Radcliffe, who reportedly gave up the magic sauce in August 2010, was spotted on a date at Beauty Bar on 14th Street getting down with the night’s DJ, Michael T. Radcliffe (no relation). “All was in good fun, and a special request for a Dusty Springfield song was even granted before a Jagerbomb-fueled Radcliffe got into a twist with the DJ,” says a witness. “He was soon encouraged by management to grab a cab.” A rep for Radcliffe didn’t get back to us.

It's all in good fun unless he's out of control. I know he made an effort to stop drinking, though...

Yeah, that's what I said when he first brought it up. Now every time he has an alcoholic beverage it's going to become a discussion about whether or not he's an alcoholic.

Tbh, as someone who identified as being an alcoholic, I don't think that this can qualify as all in good fun. He admitted to having a drinking problem, to the point where he was showing up to work still drunk from the night before, and so this seems really sad and not just about having a good time

I wasn't sure if he had actually used the term "alcoholic" or "alcoholism," etc. and didn't want to jump to conclusions. I was trying to find the interview where he talked about it.

‘I have a very addictive personality. It was a problem,’ he said.

‘People with problems like that are very adept at hiding it. It was bad. I don’t want to go into details, but I drank a lot and it was daily – I mean nightly.’

“I became reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff … There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”

“There’s no shame in enjoying a quiet life,” he said. “And that’s been the realization of the past few years for me … As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me."



He maybe didn't specifically say "I'm an alcoholic," but it's pretty clear, imo
