I remember reading an article once from a man who went to drama school (I genuinely don't remember who is was)--their school put a big emphasis on the girls and putting the girls in roles and whatnot. When the boys asked why this was, the teachers replied that it was because once they graduated, all of the roles would go to the guys and while the guys had to struggle to get roles in school, it would be the girls who struggled to get them in the real world. It was so depressing.
