Katt Williams Slap Victim Fired by TARGET

1129-katt-williams-slap-videolaunch-2

The Target employee who was PIMP SLAPPED in the face by Katt Williams says he's been FIRED from his job ...even though HE was the one who was attacked.

TMZ broke the story ... Forrest Liebenberg was having a calm conversation with the comic in the Northern California store when Katt slapped him in the face for no apparent reason. Liebenberg didn't strike back ... instead he pulled out his phone and called for help.

After the incident, Forrest told CBS13 he'd been terminated from his job with no explanation -- saying, “They weren’t very clear, but it is obvious to me that it was based on this incident.”

He added, "Maybe I was a little uninformed about how seriously the situation was with Target, but obviously it is pretty serious."

Forrest says he doesn't know if Target believes he's the person who leaked the security footage to TMZ. He also claims he is NOT the leaker.

11:22 AM PT -- A Target spokesperson confirms Forrest has been fired from the store ... but explains, "His departure was unrelated to the video footage that has appeared online."

The rep adds, "Out of respect for the privacy of this individual, we cannot discuss the reasons for his departure."

Some of the policies of the company were really backwards. At my store alone we went through probably 6 store managers in 4 years, and Team Leads were always changing. You could get fired for THE stupidest shit while others who broke every rule in the book and did ZERO work had been around for 10+ years. Lots of hours when you don't want them, none when you need them. And talking to other team members confirms that this just wasn't just my store that had these kinds of problems.

My last straw was after 4 years of being an amazing employee (always got the highest on my reviews - and, btw, the bonus my first year was .50 cents, the last year I was there the highest bracket was only .17!), doing Team Lead work for FREE, being recommended for higher positions, NO write ups, they called me in and gave me a FINAL warning (as in, one mess up and you're fired). We could only get our 10% discount if we used a Target Debit, gift card, or cash, and everyone hated the debits so we would load up gift cards and then use them. It was "against" policy, and somehow out of 100 employees I'm the only one that gets called out on it while there are literally others who come in late every day, go shopping on their breaks, and stand around picking their nose? Oh ok.

Sorry for the rant, its been 2 years and I still get pissed thinking about that place.

I worked at the Best Western for two years and they have a habit of firing people over stupidest crap. My dad told me they must like me, beause of their history of firing people.

lol My parents tell me that about the store I work at. They hire & fire so quickly, but never give anyone a raise.

Stories like that make me rage. There is nothing worse than a good loyal employee being thrown in the shitter. It happens all the time, I feel your pain.

I get the feeling they wanted to replace you with someone cheaper.

hey you're not alone. I worked there for about 7 weeks one summer when I was 18 years old. I worked part-time, but the manger asked me to work overtime (I wasn't even allowed to anyway) to cover for someone after I'd already been working for almost 8 hours. I told them no b/c I had to go out of town for a wedding, which I'd already put time in. Then, I turned in my 2 week notice so I could go back to school and they slowly started cutting my hours. When I finally left, I was supposed to get my paycheck the next day, but they lied and told me it would be mailed (WTF?!! a lie, of course). After about a week of waiting, I called several times and got the same answer that it would be mailed. Finally, I called corporate headquarters in MN and spent 3 hrs on the phone bitching at them, yelling, and demanding that I get paid b/c I was going back to college and had no money. The very next day, I got a call from my store that my check had magically been found. It had never been mailed and was sitting on my ex-boss's desk since my last day. In other words, FUCK TARGET as a place to work.

sorry for the novel.

disgusting... this happened to me when I quit a retail job. i will never understand the kind of person that would try to prevent an employee from getting their earned pay. working retail turns people into dicks, sucks out their soul i guess.

Sounds like Kohls lulz.

/I hate my job
mynamehere07 11th-Dec-2012 08:11 pm (UTC)
Oh no, I've heard good things about Kohl's.

I work for Kohls, and they seem pretty decent. The only thing I hate is selling credit. They really make us push the credit to every customer!

Macy's is the same.

It's getting to the point where slow days or late at night when they ask if I got any credits or if I can try to get at least two, I just look around at the empty store then back at my manager and tell them sure no probs just bring me customers. Can't make credits appear ~magically.

omg that sounds horrifying. i'm glad you got out of there! i shop at Target a lot and i always wonder how the employees are treated and if they like the job or not. when i was working at Cigna (big insurance company), my boss was a former Target supervisor. needless to say he was stoked to be working a 9-5 in the corporate world.

i feel you bb. i quit my job at bath & body works over a gift card issue as well. a customer had a $25 one and spent $24.75. when i told her she had .25 left on the card, she said to just keep it. later that night i was buying stuff with another employee (we were combining our things to get a buy 2, get 1 free promo since that deal was better than our employee discount) so i asked my manager if we could just put the .25 left on that gift card towards it. she said okay, we bought our stuff, i thought all was well. three weeks later i'm being pulled into the back office and put on the phone with loss prevention. they accused me of stealing from the company by using the .25 and then basically threatened to smear my reputation as an employee over it (iirc it was something to the extent of, "this behavior doesn't bode well for your future as an employee"). i got so mad that i quit right then and there and walked out of the store.
