Ice on the porch. My ankle rolled out and went totally on its side like a zombie and I just fell on top of it like with my whole body and then fell down the stairs. It goes back from being excruciating to numb and I have a big boot and crutches and I can't put any weight on it at all right now and it's so fucking swollen I need to go back to the doctor in a few days and I can't drive because its my right ankle and I don't know how I'm gonna see the Hobbit now cause the people I was going with don't drive and my other friends are at a different midnight and I have fucked up priorities I know

That sucks! This is going to be my first winter with snow and ice (I moved from Louisiana...what is winter? lol), so I'm worried I'm going to do the same thing.

I hope you feel better and make it to The Hobbit though!

Nobody drives? Not even people who drive but don't have cars that you may trust with your car? Sometimes we forget that just because someone doesn't have a car, they have a license and do know what they're doing.

How much would a cab be if you took one? D: Maybe a friend will split it with you since you're in a pickle. Also since you obviously drive them places when you're able, they sort of owe it to you.

The people that can drive live like an hour away and are going to a midnight somewhere else. The ones going with me have never even taken driver's ed so no.

I don't know. Maybe not much? It's like 9 miles.

Nine miles may not be that bad, it depends on if it's 9 city miles or how long it takes. Most cab companies have their rates online, you could check it out to see. If the one thing you blow money on is seeing a movie you've looked forward to all this time at midnight on opening night, it would be worth it!

ugh i'm so sorry. I've fractured my right wrist, sprained my left, fucked up my knee, and got my ribs brused. I am lucky i never broken anything. knock on wood.

do you know how long it will take to heal?

Right now they're saying 6 - 8 weeks but it's so swollen they can't really tell for sure so I need to go back on Saturday. I might have done something to a nerve too because it keeps going from super fucking painful to totally numb.

Luckily I live two blocks from the hospital and my godsister is a nurse so I was in and out pretty quickly.

my mom is a nurse and our neighbors all saw so they carried her in plus called an ambulance. the second they came she was all prepared.

I hope everything is ok with you. 8 weeks doesn't seem that long except its almost christmas time.

does your job know? are there things that will help you to your office?
