I know a few people who went to CC and got great grades and transferred

going to cc is better in the long run because he can transfer after he gets the "defaults" out of the way! don't worry~

I know a guy who graduated High School with a C- average. He went to community college, took classes for two years, transferred to the University of Toronto, and is now getting his Masters. He's almost done.

So... it might set him back a couple of years, even less, but it's not bad at all.

are you just mad that now you have to be around him all day ?

idunno about the 'status' of community college but in canada, colleges are basically a university degree for half the price and totally worth it if you're not planning to go into academia or a doctor/lawyer type job.
filmfreakfranco 11th-Dec-2012 06:36 pm (UTC)
most first two years at a university are spent on general eds, you can do those same general eds at a community college at a lower price and transfer over ready to dig into your actual major.

Don't knock it. A) He'll save a lot of money taking his general requirements and b) if he didn't get into university due to his grades/study habits, community college will help prepare him for entering a 4-year school.

Community College saves money. I went there for a year because I paid for my own college and ended up graduating Summa Cum Laude from the 4 year university.

And my state had a program where every credit transferred

joliebelle 11th-Dec-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
it might end up being a good thing if he's able to save up by going to a cc
chuk_is_dazzled 11th-Dec-2012 06:56 pm (UTC)
Going to cc is better. I wish I went to cc

There is a high percentage of degree attainment in students who transfer from comm. colleges to 4 year universities.
