JENNI RIVERA Passenger in Plane Crash NO SURVIVORS



Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera is missing and feared dead after her plane went down shortly after take off this morning in Mexico.

Mexico's transportation ministry says the plane lost contact with radar at 3:15 AM, approximately 61 miles from Monterrey. It was bound for Toluca.

There were two pilots and five passengers on board, including Rivera, who performed in Monterrey on Saturday night.

3:25 PM PT -- Mexican officials say they believe they have found the plane ... and there are no survivors.

2:50 PM PT -- According to a local TV station, the plane's wreckage has been found, but so far no confirmation on survivors or fatalities.



“There is nothing recognizable, neither material nor human [in the wreckage],” Transportation and Communications Minister Gerardo Ruiz Esparza told Televisa on Sunday afternoon.

The other passengers reported to be on board with Rivera, and also presumed dead, were the star’s publicist, lawyer and makeup artist, as well as a flight crew member.


Rivera, a recently-divorced mother of five, has sold 20 million albums worldwide, and was in the midst of taping the third season of her mun2 reality series, “I Love Jenni.”

Last week, it was announced Rivera — who was born and raised in Long Beach, Calif. — had signed a deal with ABC to star in her own comedy pilot about a single Latina mother running a family business.

Rivera, also a grandmother of two, is the sister of Mexican singer Lupillo Rivera.
