Tom Cruise Uncovers Humanity On A Ravaged Earth In First Oblivion Trailer

The follow-up film from Tron: Legacy director Joe Kosinski, and featuring Tom Cruise in his first sci-fi role since War of the Worlds, next spring's Oblivion is looking like one of the most intriguing original stories of next year-- and now we're finally getting an idea of what it will look like. A trailer for the film, with Spanish subtitles and posted by the film's Colombian distributor, has popped up online; it's not the official American trailer, but it seems safe to assume we'll be seeing something very similar to this in theaters soon.

Dangit! I wanted to see that trailer. Grrrrr! Generally I don't enjoy Tommy anymore as an actor. I can't get past knowing he's so involved in scientology and can't see past it. Makes me judge him harshly and if that makes me a bad person - then I'm ok with that. shrug Now if the rest of the cast is simply awesome, i will of course go see it! :)

Going to see Killing Them Softly tonight, I'm excited for that one. :)

I have the same problem - I did enjoy War of the Worlds though, if it's the right role he's a good enough actor to make me forget about all of that. If it's not, that's all I can think about!

It looks like it's going to be a very interesting movie visually, but I couldn't tell what the hell the plot was based on that trailer. I was more interested in the imagery than the acting or the plot.

He should go back to doing dramas--he's trying too hard with the actions and comedies lately, when in reality, he's an amazing dramatic actor. Go back to your roots, Tom!
