It did up until the screeners went out to the critics. I'm wondering if part of it is that it really benefits from the theater experience. When you're watching with 100 other people, the emotional resonance is not gonna be the same as when you're watching on a dvd in your home.

It reflects the musical itself though - it goes HORRIBLE REVIEWS when it came out, and the producers were trying to call the theater to know if they should pull it out, and they couldn't get anyone on the line because too many people were calling to get tickets.
