IT'S SOAP NEWS FRIDAY!!!

Surprise! Soap Opera Ratings Bubble Up!

When ABC canceled One Life to Live and All My Children a year ago, the network cited declining ratings, higher production costs and changing viewer tastes as the reasons. But this season, all four surviving soaps -- General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives -- have seen a surprise uptick in ratings.

"What's happened is the core audience realized these treasures might go away," says Bill Carroll of Katz Television Group. "They decided they'd better watch, or the shows are not going to be there."

Consolidating that audience was a goal of recent casting moves, according to Frank Valentini, executive producer of General Hospital (and formerly of One Life to Live). "We brought three actors from One Life to Live to General Hospital, so I'm sure we brought some fans over," he says.

Valentini cites other recent improvements -- storylines don't drag out as long, portrayals of women are more contemporary, and there are fewer flashbacks and more intrigue, romance and humor.

Social media and increasing use of DVRs also are helping drive viewers. "There's a water-cooler sort of effect in social media," says Valentini.

The Chew generates only a 0.9 rating, about one-third less than GH delivers. Katie also is failing to attract as many women 25-to-54 as GH. (ABC's other soap replacement, the lifestyle self-help show The Revolution, already has been canceled.)

Given the resurgence, could this mean new dramas soon will be coming to daytime? Says Carroll, "At some point in the future, the trend will once again be soap operas."

Y&R Hunks Visit The Talk!!

CBS cross-promoted its latest daytime hunks when new THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS stars Ignacio Serricchio, Redaric Williams (Tyler), Marco Dapper (Carmine) and Lamon Archey (Mason) when they visited THE TALK on Thursday, December 6.

Maurice Benard Staying With GENERAL HOSPITAL, Signs New Contract!

GENERAL HOSPITAL star Maurice Benard has signed a new contract to remain on the soap as Sonny Corinthos. Benard announced the news on his Twitter account.

"I just signed my contract for General Hospital," Benard wrote. "It makes me feel good that I'm not leaving my family."

Benard joined GH in 1993 and has received seven Daytime Emmy nominations for his work as Sonny, winning in 2003.

ABC developing real-life version of General Hospital!

The show quietly began taping recently at the famed UCLA Medical Center, a spokesman for ABC confirmed. The show is in its “earliest, pilot stages,” said the official and is intended “either for syndication or maybe cable.”

The show will follow the private as well as working lives of white coats at the hospital.

ABC has been experimenting a lot with daytime TV in the past few years — trying to see if new kinds of shows can replace the age-old menu of talk, soaps and game shows.

It has succeeded with “The Chew,” a multi-host show built around food and starring chef Mario Batali, which debuted last year and has been a surprisingly steady performer.

The idea of shaping the reality format for daytime TV has been kicked around by TV producers for a while now. NBC re-cut existing episodes of the “Real Housewives” franchise for an afternoon soap two years ago — but couldn’t make it work.

If ABC were to syndicate the as-yet-untitled hospital show, it would have to make room somewhere in its daytime schedule.

Tina Sloan's 'Happy New Year' Opens In New York December 7!

Happy New Year, a bold, new feature film about a group of brave veterans who form unlikely bonds at a V. A. hospital while fighting to redefine their lives, will open in New York at the Quad Cinemas (34 W. 13th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenue) on Friday, December 7, 2012.

Winner of the Best Director Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, writer and director K. Lorrel Manning puts a human face on the headlines of post-traumatic stress in the character of Marine Staff Sergeant Cole Lewis (Michael Cuomo--also the co-producer of the film) who returns to the U.S. from Afghanistan to face his fiercest battle yet–the struggle between his hope for rehabilitation and his will to live.

Happy New Year shocked audiences and critics at the South-by-Southwest and the Hamptons Film Festivals with its exposure of a system of institutionalized neglect, opening the question of whether rehab is, in some cases, just a euphemism for warehousing our wounded soldiers.

Manning, based in New York and a graduate of Columbia University’s Film Program, created this armed forces version of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest not simply to tell the potent story of Cole’s discovery of humanity, compassion and brotherhood among a group of similarly injured soldiers in the psychiatric ward of a remote veterans’ hospital. Manning is too clear-eyed and unsentimental. He understands that Cole’s battles are just beginning even after his fellow vets—survivors of Korea, Vietnam, and the Middle East—replace the influence of a brutally demanding Father (Alan Dale, THE O.C., UGLY BETTY, LOST, 24, ENTOURAGE) who punishes any sign of what he takes to be his son’s weakness, self-pity or despair.

Happy New Year was inspired by Nina Berman's award-winning book of photographs, Purple Hearts. Reading the book led Manning and Cuomo to conduct more than 80 one-on-one interviews with combat veterans, their families, and V.A. personnel. Manning came to terms with the intensity of the stories he heard by writing and directing, first, a play, which was produced by New York’s Barrow Group in June 2007 and then a short film adaptation of the play as prelude to this feature film.

For the feature film, Manning and Cuomo attracted an accomplished supporting cast of New York- based theater, television and film actors including J.D. Williams (THE WIRE, OZ), Monique Gabriela Curnen (Contagion, The Dark Knight) and Tina Sloan (best known for her starring role as Nurse Lillian Raines on CBS’s GUIDING LIGHT) who brings to the screen the experience of pride and fear she felt while her own son served as a U.S. Marine Captain in Afghanistan.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS Celebrates 24 Years At #1 In Daytime!

CBS's THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS this week marks its 1,248th consecutive week – or 24 years – as the #1 daytime drama, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 2.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, currently in its 39th season with more than 10,000 episodes, began its winning streak the week of Dec. 26, 1988.

It was also the year Scattergories was the most popular Christmas gift, "The Cosby Show" was television's top-rated program, "Rain Man" was the #1 movie, Nike's "Just Do It" slogan was first introduced and Apple shipped 1.3 million computers (compared to an estimated 25 million iPads in fourth quarter 2012).

THE YOUNG AND RESTLESS has also been #1 in women 25-54 for 302 of the past 303 weeks and first in women 18-49 for 297 of the last 298 weeks.

CBS's Daytime lineup has also been #1 for 26 years, beginning with the 1986-1987 season. This season, all of the Network's daytime dramas (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL), game shows (THE PRICE IS RIGHT, LET'S MAKE A DEAL) and THE TALK, the fastest growing network daytime program, are posting year-to-year growth in viewers and/or women 25-54.

Eileen "Mike" Pollock Dead at 86!

Eileen "Mike" Pollock has died at age 86, according to The Desert Sun.

Along with husband, Robert (Bob) Pollock, she wrote for LOVE OF LIFE, then THE DOCTORS in the early 1970s, which earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Writing for a Drama Series in 1974.

After a five year run, they moved out West and wrote for GENERAL HOSPITAL. She created characters such as Monica Quartermaine and Heather Webber that are still active on the show to this day.

She was best known as a writer and producer for DYNASTY in the 1980s as well as its spin-off series, THE COLBYS, and miniseries Dynasty: The Reunion. She joined DYNASTY in Season 2 and brought the character of Alexis to life.

Mark Pinter Joins The Young and the Restless!

One of the soap world's most notorious badasses is about to shake things up in Genoa City! Actor Mark Pinter, best known as slimy senator-turned-mayor Grant Harrison on Another World, is set to play yet another ruthless politico on CBS' The Young and the Restless.

A rep for the top-rated sudser tells TV Guide Magazine that Pinter will be seen as Marcus Wheeler, "a powerful and sophisticated congressman involved with Victor [Eric Braeden] and Jack [Peter Bergman], who will go to any lengths to protect his image and career."

Pinter, whose credits also include stints on As the World Turns, Guiding Light and All My Children, starts shooting Y&R on Dec. 6. He hits the air Jan. 10 and will be seen at least through Feb. sweeps.

Former soap opera actor Joseph Gallison to play Kris Kringle!

The last time Joe Gallison played Santa Claus, he was playing Dr. Neil Curtis playing Santa Claus at a Christmas party for the Horton family on the long-running NBC soap opera DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Dr. Curtis didn't have an invitation to the party, possibly because he later married the woman who shot Marie Horton, who was his wife at the time. Or it could've been because he had a love affair with Maggie Horton, who returned to her husband, Mickey, as Dr. Curtis left town in 1991.

In any event, Gallison is set to portray Kris Kringle yet again, this time for the Thalian Association's production of "Miracle on 34th Street," opening Dec. 6 at Thalian Hall.

Australia's Channel Ten opens news with Ridge Forrester goodbye!

Dramatic Pause.

Soap opera fans sometimes find they need to hide their love for programs that others describe as dreck.

But one respected journalist has acknowledged a soapie in a very public, and possibly unexpected, way.

In the wake of the final episode featuring Ridge Forrester, the main character of The Bold and The Beautiful, Ten newsreader Mal Walden began his 5pm bulletin on Tuesday in a slightly unorthodox way.

"Farewell Ridge. Good evening," Walden greeted viewers, some of whom would have watched the soap that immediately precedes the news, and some of whom would no doubt have been in tears at the departure of 60-year-old actor Ronn Moss, after 25 years.

It's not the first time that Walden, 67, has broken the traditional newsreader rules when delivering bulletins in Melbourne over many decades.

In 2007, when announcing stories still to come in the bulletin, he dismissed an interview screened earlier with a Qantas air hostess who had a fling with actor Ralph Fiennes.

"Coming up, is homework - like that hostess story - really a waste of time?" Walden asked.

Earlier this year, in a nod to Gen Y viewers, he labelled an extreme plane landing "totes amaze" [totally amazing] and over the years has had trouble pronouncing the word "phenomenon" - with amusing attempts on YouTube, for posterity.

In Moss' final episode on Tuesday, Ridge married Brooke for the sixth time and their dramatic honeymoon duly followed.

But nothing in soap world ends happily ever after and the marriage doesn't survive.

Brooke arrives home alone from the Paris honeymoon.

Another spoiler alert - here comes the reveal.

About 20 episodes from now, it will be revealed that Ridge believed his wife was cheating on him.

Brooke had received text messages from Deacon Sharpe - her former lover and her daughter's former lover - and had kept them secret from a heartbroken Ridge.

It is not yet known how Walden feels about the latest developments in the saga.

Marcy Rylan Back To Y&R!!

Soap Opera Digest can reveal that Marcy Rylan is heading back to Genoa City as Abby. The popular actress, who was cut from the cast in September to the surprise of her castmates, the fans — and the press — has been asked to return and will start taping again in January. Her status will now be recurring.

GENERAL HOSPITAL's New Gay Character: Felix Dubois!

Marc Anthony Samuel debuted Tuesday on GENERAL HOSPITAL as Felix Dubois, a nursing student friend of Sabrina (Teresa Castillo). Felix quickly realized Sabrina had a crush on Patrick and tried to zhoosh her up (he just happened to carry lipstick with him). Unfortunately, Sabrina just ended up with bright red velvet cupcake lipstick on her teeth. He also was gung-ho to participate in the Nurse's Ball ("You can have me sing and dance. There wasn't a moment in my childhood I didn't have an original soundtrack playing on my stereo.")

A few of Felix's memorable one-liners in his debut:

On Sabrina picking poppy seeds out of her teeth as Patrick arrives: "All I'm saying is, it's gonna take a lot more than picking poppy seeds out your teeth to land that."

On the Nurse's Ball: "Nurses have balls?"

On Dr. Patrick Drake: "All I'm saying is, if I could break off a piece of that -- mmm! -- I would."

On Patrick's love life: "Isn't he dating Dr. Westnile?"

Scott Evans Busted in Undercover Drug Buy!

ONE LIFE TO LIVE alum Scott Evans was busted for attempting to buy drugs off an undercover cop, TMZ is reporting.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Evans was arrested Tuesday evening when he tried to score narcotics from a LAPD officer posing as a dealer.

Evans, who played Officer Oliver Fish on OLTL, was booked at 6:15 p.m. for attempt to possess a controlled substance, a felony. He bailed out around 12:30 a.m.

It's unclear what drug Evans was trying to buy.

Evans reacted to the bust with a Facebook post early this morning: "Most ridiculous night of my life in LA so far. At least I made it a year before getting arrested."

Evans is currently filming the Selena Gomez movie Behaving Badly.

Matt will first appear in late January/early February.

Bruening's casting follows that of Neve Campbell, who will play Derek's sister Lizzie Shepherd, and Constance Zimmer as a new doctor at Seattle Grace.

Bruening was most recently seen as Chef Jeff in SWITCHED AT BIRTH.

Guiding Light Vets Reunite on The Bold and the Beautiful!

They played young marrieds Christina and Remy Boudreau on Guiding Light, and now Karla Mosley and Lawrence Saint-Victor have both been snapped up by The Bold and the Beautiful. But the casting is mere coinkydink! A rep for the CBS serial tells TV Guide Magazine "we went for the two best actors possible. These new characters are not connected, though they will arrive on the show in close proximity."

Mosley joins the cast Jan. 17 as Maya, a woman who shares a Skid Row past with Dayzee (Kristolyn Lloyd) — and Dayzee is not one bit happy about it! Saint-Victor hits Jan. 29 playing a not-yet-named character who is the adoptive brother of Dayzee's husband Marcus (Texas Battle). Both are contract roles.

As for the length of their stint or any exact storyline details about what they'll be getting up to? You'll just have to tune in and see for yourself!

B&B: Brad Bell's Preview for 2013!

In the December 17th issue of Soap Opera Digest, it features an interview with Bradly Bell. Here are a few excerpts from that interview..

Interview with Bell:

Passing the Torch: The torch was handed to Brooke but it is up for grabs. Who will emerge on top, Taylor, Steffy, Hope, Brooke, Katie? Who will be the reigning queen?

Ridge Recast: It’s absolutely an option. But he’s open if Ronn wants to return. Time will tell.

Brooke: With Ridge no longer there, it creates a very single Brooke. So who will be that next love in her life? That will be front and center in 2013.

Dayzee and Marcus: They have new characters coming in January, an actress and actor, whom are not unfamiliar to daytime television. The actress will be an acquaintance with Dayzee from skid row.

Brooke/Bill/Katie Triangle: They are going to run with it. Yet, it’s not really a triangle as of now. Brooke respects Katie’s marriage and she is not going to be that person to interfere. Brooke will fight it with everything she has.

Hope: Hope learns how much she and Liam were manipulated which is going to renew a fire under her to reclaim Liam. The triangle is going to fire up again. She has grown up. The Hope who wanted everything perfect was naive and looking back, she has regrets. The Hope we are going to see is more driven and is less concerned about what people think. She’s more than capable of getting what she wants. Exciting new chapter for KM. No new man for Hope, her focus is Liam.

The Marone Family: You never know the future. He loves that family and misses their energy but right now they have a full cast. In his mind they are on a leave of absence but not gone for good.

Fashion: They are making it more realistic that will reflect more of that of Paris, Milan, New York, and L.A.

Eric and FC: The matriarch left and the patriarch is rising in his power and stature. It’s a new chapter for Eric and is going to be a man that’s not afraid to assert himself. That power is going to make him very attractive to some of the ladies on the cast.

Location Shoots: They are looking for them every month. It’s part of who they are, contrary to other soaps on the air.

Genoa City's New Sleuth: Uncovering the Truth!

If New York City detective Alex Chavez wants answers, he's going to get them, according to Ignacio Serricchio, who plays the role beginning Friday, December 7.

"He has very dry humor, is very sarcastic, and is also direct and to the point," Ignacio said. "He wants information and he's going to get it. He reads people, knows when they're lying and enjoys watching them try to make things up."

Daytime fans may remember the Argentina-born Ignacio as General Hospital's Diego. He reports that his mother is thrilled he's not playing a bad guy this time around (at least so far) and that he's excited to be working with Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps again.

"Jill gave me my first big job, really started my career," Ignacio said. When she approached Ignacio about playing Alex, he reacted with, "I would do anything for you!" Ignacio credited Jill's ability to create a fun environment for his enthusiasm. "Jill knows me very well. I'm all about having fun and being creative. There's nothing else that interests me. We understand each other."

Ignacio, who has had guest roles on a number of primetime shows since leaving GH, is happy to be back on daytime. "[Daytime] challenges you; you have to be on your toes. You take notes and apply them immediately. It's the closest thing to theatre in the TV/film world and I love theatre."

A number of other creative pursuits occupy Ignacio's time off the set, including standup comedy and screenwriting; he's written a film he plans to shoot next year about a man who enters a salsa dancing tournament with the goal of winning enough money to pay off a debt.

Ignacio previewed that Alex will interrogate Noah and Kevin upon his arrival in Genoa City. Will he get the straight dope? Tune in to see!

GH: Faison and Anna’s Swiss Showdown!

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest it features an article entitled, "Faison and Anna’s Swiss Showdown"

Anna catches Faison and his Duke mask and is floored to realize her nemesis is alive. “Due to some quick thinking, a well-timed hauling out of the real Duke, and a few other tricks, Faison is able to delay her realization that he has been posing as Duke all along.”

However, his luck runs out when Scorpio and McBain arrive in Switzerland and bust the villain just as he (as Duke) is about to bed Anna. RC says these scenes will be worth the wait. Anna gets to unleash on him and it will be satisfying for the audience, “it’s a gratifying moment where she gets to have it out with this guy.” The blowout leaves Anna reeling and needing a moment to digest this whole situation.

She starts to process things and wonder how could Faison know intimate details of Duke’s and her relationship and could there be a way that Duke is really alive? So they head to the clinic, which could lead to a collision course with not only Duke but Robin.

This week marks the last week of Hove’s stint but promises a larger story of Faison’s mischief.

Lynn Herring On The Making Of Her Return To GH As Fan Fave Lucy Coe!!

Circle next Friday December 14th for the return of Lynn Herring as the one and only Lucy Coe to General Hospital! Herring’s last visit to Port Charles was over eight and half years ago when Lucy attended Lila Quartermaine’s funeral. This time, Lucy is summoned to town for her expertise on the Nurses Ball!

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Herring reveals her shock and the happy surprise that she was asked back to General Hospital at this time. She also noted how many great things she had been told about GH’s latest creative team of executive producer Frank Valentini and head writer Ron Carlivati, especially from her long time friends and GH co-stars Tony Geary (Luke) and Jane Elliot (Tracy)!

Lynn admitted she was completely blown away by the handle the writing team has on her one of a kind character stating: “The voice the writers gave Lucy in the 90′s was pretty specific. Frank Valentini said ‘I know you haven’t done this in awhile but you have to understand, Ron Carlivati is truly a fan of that time period and those characters and he really does get it!’Of course, until you see it on the page, you’re never sure, but when I read the first show, I was in awe. The script writers and the outline writers and Ron, obviously, all got it, which is a gift in itself – not just to get to go back, but to have some funny one-liners and the reactions of the other characters to Lucy!”

Later, he told her that he loved her and wanted to stay married to her.

Roman began to have his suspicions that things about John, Kristen, and Marlena were being kept from him, especially when he had dinner with Eric, John, and Kristen and noticed the tension between Kristen and John. Sami tried to pry Eric's secrets out of him, but he insisted there were none, and suggested they focus on their common goal -- getting John out of the way so Marlena and Roman could get back together. Susan began to have nightmares about baby Elvis growing up to be demonic like his father Stefano, and prepared to hand the child over to Kristen. Marlena overheard Kristen telling someone she was about to get her baby back. Jennifer left a message for Jack in the dirt of the cave in the Grand Canyon, and he figured out that Travis had taken her to his parents' cabin. Jack was nearly captured by a separatist militiaman. The man let him go, but informed him that Travis was very dangerous. Travis took Jenn up to his parents' cabin, where it soon became apparent to Jenn that something about the cabin put Travis on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Peter's mosquito bite worsened into jungle madness, which made him abnormally strong, but delusional and in great pain. He called Stefano to ask for help, and Stefano told him to go to the compound in the jungle, where Dr. Rolf met him. Billie began to turn the neediness screws on Bo, telling him that she would need his support if she testified against Max, and reminding him of all the promises he had made to her in Rome. Hope ran into Max at the station, and he told her about Billie's addiction in Rome.

Luke revealed to Alexis he knew she was really Natasha. Katherine and Stefan reconciled and consummated their relationship. Tony tried to get the truth about Carly from Lorraine but was unsuccessful. Sarah told Nikolas she wasn't ready to sleep with him. James Meadows successfully impersonated Mac.

Annie and Alan announced their engagement. Abby paid a visit to the funeral parlor, and Roy's mother accosted her. Jesse and his father argued at Jesse's mother's grave. Beth admitted to Phillip that life hadn't been the same without him, but the words were too late. Cassie and Hart played "stork" when the cleaning lady at Lewis Oil went into labor. Ross decided to resign as D.A. and hoped that Abby would accept him as her defense attorney. Jesse proposed to Michelle.

Melinda went to see Addie. Kelly and Dorian took Melinda back to California. Mel and Cassie learned that her grandparents had not died in a plane crash. Max asked Luna for help. R.J. became a suspect in the twins' kidnapping. Jacara considered R.J.'s partnership offer. Téa approached R.J. about becoming his attorney. Todd planned a surprise for Téa.

Neil moved out of the apartment and into Ryan's apartment, leaving Dru and Lily devastated. The custody trial continued with Danny's testimony. Tricia again approached Ryan about moving in together, but Ryan told her that he already had a roommate. Jill and Keith decided to allow the girls to redecorate their bedrooms as Christmas gifts. Paul was assailed by doubts after seeing Chris and Danny in what looked like a tender moment. Sara made Josh's favorite meal, and Nikki wondered how she had known it was his favorite.

lmao the whole Lulu thinks her baby is a dog thing was hilarious

i love the campiness on soaps idec
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:22 am (UTC)
i've seen on the boards people taking it seriously, like the baby is going to have that gene that makes hair grow all over the body.
mydogfred 8th-Dec-2012 03:24 am (UTC)
lmaoooooooo they would
cathangel 8th-Dec-2012 08:54 am (UTC)
Or that Lulu's baby will be fathered by Spinelli if Maxie sleeps with him. He's nicknamed 'The Jackal' after all.
tammyinlalaland 8th-Dec-2012 04:03 am (UTC)
It was awesome.. :)

The triangle is going to fire up again.

yes that's just what we need
iamglory 8th-Dec-2012 04:29 am (UTC)
Because that didn't bore me the first fucking time. I hope this time a well timed Segwey will derail the next wedding. So I never have to hear Gondola again.
distant_lines 8th-Dec-2012 03:17 am (UTC)
I'm so excited soap ratings are going up! I'd hate for us to not have anymore soaps.
apple_fries 8th-Dec-2012 03:19 am (UTC)
DAYS and GH have been at about 2.5 million for like 2 weeks. it's great.
distant_lines 8th-Dec-2012 03:22 am (UTC)
For all the GH fans that bitch about how Ron and co. are ruining the show I want to say "Suck it, bitches!". Obviously people like what he's doing.
anna_drenxavier 8th-Dec-2012 10:17 am (UTC)
LOL I can't wait to rub this in the faces of the homophobes on facebook, who keep screaming that Will's gayness has driven viewers off by the THOUSANDS, EVERY DAY.
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:20 am (UTC)
i hope they start making more soaps soon!
apple_fries 8th-Dec-2012 03:18 am (UTC)
nicole/eric and brady/kristen have such good chemistry rn. maybe because they're the best actors on the show lol and the peek at crazy kristen at the end of this ep was everything.

GH is so good right now too! i'm getting the history and stuff down so it's pretty fun to watch. faison is creepy af omg

Y&R... zzzz....
josiefier 8th-Dec-2012 03:22 am (UTC)
I really kind of want to see the Newmans kick Adam to the curb again, but keep Chelsea. ~Suddenly deciding that she's better and more reformed than he'll ever be, etc. It seems Nikki's chosen to relate to her, so why not.

Other than that, even I have no nice things to say about Adam right now. Though I did like MM's quick move of bracing himself and SC from the mantel when she almost backed into it in today's ep.

Also, everything is A.J. on GH right now and nothing hurts. I may have squeed a little bit at SK and ME in that interrogation room scene together.
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:33 am (UTC)
i love that they keep those sorta-bloopers in the show.
bearsinlove 8th-Dec-2012 04:22 am (UTC)
They kinda have to. Unless they really screw up, they can't afford to re-shoot.

I love when actors accidentally call each other by their IRL names by mistake and it makes it through to air.
professor_chaos 8th-Dec-2012 03:22 am (UTC)
I am a week behind on GH (fucking work) Tues, Wed & Fri are on my DVR, have I missed a lot of good stuff? (just yes or no and a general idea, no spoiler details please). Is Lucy back yet? What stupid reason did they give for the Tomas Alcazar BS?

Edited at 2012-12-08 03:23 am (UTC)
mydogfred 8th-Dec-2012 03:24 am (UTC)
they hinted at Lucy today by showing a picture of her so i am assuming she'll be on the canvas soon

and yeah, if you're interested in the Faison/Anna/Duke/Robert stuff i would watch for sure

josiefier 8th-Dec-2012 03:26 am (UTC)
AJ and Tracy have been pretty hilarious this week, so I'd say it's worth watching.
professor_chaos 8th-Dec-2012 03:28 am (UTC)
cool, i love their dynamic,
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:35 am (UTC)
i dont think they ever cleared up if Tomas was Lorenzo or not.

he was just re-called back to active duty by the FBI and left town.
batty_gal 8th-Dec-2012 03:26 am (UTC)
Omg I can't wait for Lucy Coe AND the Anna/Faison showdown. I hope Robin comes back at the Nurses' Ball.
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:29 am (UTC)
she'll probably show up at Patrick & Britt's wedding.
batty_gal 8th-Dec-2012 03:35 am (UTC)
As long as she Britt and/or Sabrina run off in tears never to be seen again, I'm all for it!
semigemi 8th-Dec-2012 04:02 am (UTC)
Have you seen the promo for next week? I.cannot.wait.

me too..
mywastedemotion 8th-Dec-2012 03:30 am (UTC)
In other OLTL news, Eddie Alderson (OLTL's Matthew Buchanan) is gorgeous.

batty_gal 8th-Dec-2012 03:34 am (UTC)
I would NOT be surprised if he shows up on GH as either Morgan or Jack Manning.
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:36 am (UTC)
remember when Matthew had ~feelings~ for Starr?

that was hilarious and gross at the same time.
setsuna16 8th-Dec-2012 04:39 am (UTC)
As long as they don't bring back Andrew T. as Jack, I don't mind.

But I do think Eddie would work as Morgan.

I just want Mark Lawson as Dillon. Which would make no sense, but I miss Mark Lawson.
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:37 am (UTC)
principino 8th-Dec-2012 03:37 am (UTC)
Hi, Eddie. Frank V. still hasn't called, so you probably should go to college.
grumpibear501 8th-Dec-2012 03:37 am (UTC)
So much stuff has been happening on General Hospital and FAST! A little too fast, I sometimes feel.

Like they could have dragged the Faison story out another week.. was not expecting today's scene to happen so soon.

GH has been totally kicking ass though. And the more I see Sabrina, the more I'm convinced she's going to be Anna's long lost daughter and Robin's sister. And YAY Nurses Ball and Lucy Coe!
principino 8th-Dec-2012 03:38 am (UTC)
Anders Hove could only film for like two days...might be why there were a little limited (though it's been mostly Duke).
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 03:42 am (UTC)
i think they have to film several episodes per day to stay under budget, so that's why the storylines seem to fly by.

and most of the actors are only avaliable for a limited time, like Anders Hove had some trouble getting a work VISA to the U.S. and when he did get it, it was only for a short-term.
josiefier 8th-Dec-2012 03:44 am (UTC)
I'm kind of glad that scene already happened. I've become a Robert Scorpio fan, so I like the idea that Anna already has to tell him he was right.
grumpibear501 8th-Dec-2012 04:00 am (UTC)
I'm loving Robert.. he's so suave and James Bondy, and his voice is so fab. If he had his own detective show, I'd watch it all the time lol.
jessie_val_jean 8th-Dec-2012 04:47 am (UTC)
I had a feeling she'd end up being a SORASED Leora Hayward!!
browneyedguuurl 8th-Dec-2012 03:45 am (UTC)
AJ is giving me so much life rn. And I am shipping him and Sam SFM! Omg! Not her for Spixie though, they are the worst.
josiefier 8th-Dec-2012 04:09 am (UTC)
I'm not picky, I'll be happy with pretty much anyone who gets AJ's clothes off.
semigemi 8th-Dec-2012 04:47 am (UTC)
Mte. I want him chem tested with everyone.

I LOVE KRISTEN SO MUCH!!!
luckygirl2k1 8th-Dec-2012 01:50 pm (UTC)
i just kept thinking.... she was your stepmom and this is so gross! but now i'm like ehhhhh.... but i still want john and kristen back together. now that would be one hell of a triangle...
xcollsangelx 8th-Dec-2012 04:06 am (UTC)
I love when people calling Faison posing as Duke "Face On"
tammyinlalaland 8th-Dec-2012 04:11 am (UTC)
No way, that Sabrina girl is not Anna and Faison's daughter by a suro. NO WAY...
isntdaveone 8th-Dec-2012 04:12 am (UTC)
another rumor that she's Lucy Coe's daughter.
tammyinlalaland 8th-Dec-2012 04:13 am (UTC)
Really? I don't support that.. She is Devane
semigemi 8th-Dec-2012 04:15 am (UTC)
Didn't she say she was Juan's cousin already though?
