The twitter feud between The Wanted's Max George and One Direction's Zayn Malik took a new turn today - after an insider claimed that Perrie Edwards was the cause of the pair's social media war last month.

Yep, the source claims that Max has a bit of a thing for Little Mixer Perrie - a fact the Bradford Bad Boi didn't take too kindly.

"There's no love lost between The Wanted and 1D," the insider told heat magazine. "But the biggest problem seems to be with Zayn and Max.

"Zayn doesn't really like him. he thinks he can be a bit arrogant."

Apaz, the dislike stems from Maxy boy making eyes at Pezza - witht the source claiming: "Max met Perrie on The Xtra Factor last December and was pretty flirty."

Max's ex-girlfriend Michelle Keegan is said to have added fuel to the boyband-rift fire too - with reports suggesting she "joked that Max said Perrie was hot" when she met Little Mix at an event recently.

Hmmm, and here we were thinking the twitter spat was all about badger quiffs and, er, chlamydia.
