Ellen DeGeneres is in a JCPenny commerical, One Million Moms protest.



Via email from One Million Moms:
Since April, JC Penney's has not aired Ellen DeGeneres in one of their commercials until now. A new JCP ad features Ellen and three elves. JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again. Christians must now vote with their wallets. We have contacted JC Penney's several times in the past with our concerns, and they will not listen. They have decided to ignore our complaints so we will avoid them at all costs.

I always love getting graphic tees from JCP but their sweater selection this year is a lot cuter than in years pass & you're right - so cheap!

I do believe I can afford at least 6 - which I'll be needing because I need to have festive sweaters for all the holiday parades/parties I'll be attending this season.

She is offensive by just EXISTING in a commercial. No mention of being gay, no gay PDA. Just the fact that she is THERE is enough to outrage these people.

It breaks my damn mind that your friends/loved ones can know something like this about you and still have all that shit dribble out of their mouths. Let alone even be in their head in the first place.

I just found homophobia in my close circle of friends I never expected. Thankfully it wasn't the extent of your crazies but still gross enough that I'm unamused and don't like being around them much anymore.

I have picked up the habit of buying stuff from Penney's whenever possible.

They also didn't open at an asinine hour on Black Friday because they understand that the day before is a frigging holiday that their associates may appreciate spending with their families.

I got the most comfy pajama bottoms there the other day. Not here for their bargain department store clothes but their camis and pajamas are actually pretty good choices, imo.

TRUE FACT: In the olden days when my dad was young, his secretly-gay friend married a nice plain religious girl in an attempt to not be gay. Did not work, marriage awful. When she realised, she tried to help him out with a helpful priest who supposedly was good at converting gay men into holy straight ones. Helpful priest and hubby had an affair. Eventually they separated, never divorced due to being so holy. It was all AWFUL and if the poor guy had just been able to accept himself in the first place, a lady might have had a happy marriage to someone else, kids and all the things she dreamed of.

All the religious fervour in the world won't change a person that much.

This is my exact thought, not having known about the group before. Are they really going to start hating their kid if their kid is gay/bi/trans/something else they don't understand? Because statistically, it's going to happen.
