The former owner of a "revenge porn" website has been threatened by hacktivist collective Anonymous.
Hunter Moore used to post sexual images of men and women without their permission, along with links to their social networking profiles.
Mr Moore said he will launch a new site soon, telling one technology blog he would also post home addresses.
He later said he was "misquoted", but Anonymous has said he must be held "accountable for his actions".
"We will protect anyone who is victimised by abuse of our internet, we will prevent the stalking, rape, and possible murders as by-product of his sites," the group said in a media release.
It added: "Operation anti-bully. Operation hunt Hunter engaged. We are Anonymous, we are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget, Hunter Moore, expect us."

As for organization, it's little clusters of like-minded folks that sort of draw one another. It's why you can read about Anonymous going after Scientology one month, and then the next, hear about how they hacked some kid's MySpace and posted gay porn ~for the lulz.
"It's likely you got these requests from an offshoot of anonymous that set up a website in support of the original Anonymous hacktivists which was basically for the purpose of getting a ground movement together. (And when you were getting the messages, it was likely during the time when the 'getting the word out' phase of the plan was being initiated.) That site is why, especially in 2011 I think, you'd see people around the word who were protesting wearing V for Vendetta masks.
In my experience, in early 2011 I noted the growing popularity of the 'Anonymous street movement' and by mid 2011 the Occupy protests cropped up, or at least that's how it happened in the states.
But yeah. Technically Street Movement Anonymous has nothing to do with Hacktivist Anonymous, except that one was inspired by the other."
So ironically yes, in some ways it really is just a message board you can sign up to (though I don't know if it's still around).

Rules of the Internet #1 - #10, in particular #1 & #2 should clue you in about where to go. After that, you need to post a lot of shit "for the lolz" in order to fit in, and just wait for a target to pop up, at which point things will move off of 4chan and onto another board, and the mods will kindly scrub any trace of the conversation ever taking place.
