The mayor doesn't want it, so it might not happen. Officially it's going to start next year, needing to ID yourself as a Dutch citizen.

I don't think it was for Amsterdam actually, more for provinces in teh south of Holland that bordere Germany/Belgium because those places had trouble with weed tourists that became unruly.

Also, it didn't ban foreigners, it banned people not living there.

It wasn't approved, I'm from Argentina and went there 2 months ago and smoked quite a lot.

First it was an experiment in the south, the mayors of the big cities objected. Now there's a new law that you need to be a resident of The Netherlands that will take effect probably... somewhere next year? But the big cities will not enforce this law as it's up to the municipalities whether they want to enforce the law or not.
... or something. Even the Dutch lost track of the development.

I know several that don't and some that SHOULD NOT. I know several people that become violent on pot. I don't know what causes it but these guys I knew used to beat up their girlfriends when on it.

I know when I smoke it with my brothers we are all very laxed, so it's strange to hear about cases such as that.

I went a few years back and it's such a nice city to investigate in that getting stoned is such a waste of time. I guess culture and art would be wasted on him.

If you're willing, I'd like to hear! I haven't looked much into visiting that area yet so I know zero about it (except for the cliche stuff).

the red light district is full of trafficked girls/women, it makes sad

the weed would be awesome but I'm more keen towards visiting some damn tulip fields and art museums <3

My friends go twice a year to just sit in the same coffee shops for four days and get blazed to oblivion.

Apparently they tried to go to the Anne Frank museum but were "too high and got freaked out."

I think it's such a waste to go to Dam and literally just do the same shit you do at home.

I lived in the Netherlands for six months and went to Amsterdam a couple times and didn't smoke weed a single time. I want to go back so bad, I loved it there.

I like to do both. I like to ride bikes in the parks and get really stoned. And I like to go to the museums and get really stoned. And I like to get good food and investigate and get really stoned.

the science museum was awesome when I went! Unfortunately everyone else wanted the "traditional" experience

All I want to do is see the tulips tbh. I'm going in the Spring. Very excited.

Oh man you're living my dream. I wish I could live in Amsterdam, not cos of the weed or De Wallen, but cos it's such a cosy and cute city with it all. That and the fact the Dutch are such awesome people despite being swamped with busloads of tourists and having to deal with their antics all the time.

here in my part of the US it's like $115-130 for a quarter of pretty good bud. I'm not sure I could forgo wine for weed tbh, but beer can gtfo.

I bought weed already in a cigarrete and filter and it cost me 7 euro.

It costs 20/g 60/8th where I live but my friend just told me it's higher quality where he lives and 40/8th. I'm pressed. But at least I'm visiting him in a week or so. :)


Oh and I'm in the US. So I'm going by dollars. Southern United States to be exact.

I don't mind if I'm smoking with a really small group. If there are only 2 of us, 2 tokes pass is too much and it means no one's talking, but if there are more than ~4 people I get pissed off if people hog the joint too.

Ugh Yes. I got my cousin high once and he started getting all red faced and weird. We were going to a club so I was like, 'here's a washrag, put it over your eyes while I drive'. Then 30 mins later he's all "I think I peed myself." I didn't know what to say besides "If you peed in my car I'm dropping you on the side of the road." But then it turned out the washrag was just in his lap leaving a wet mark.

you think? idk i'd guess he has a pretty high tolerance and most likely there isn't much of a difference between when he's high and when he's not (he's probably high most of the time) if anything i feel like he would be more tolerable stoned. bet he's 10x more aggro when he's not! who knows tho idk
