Prince William and Kate Middleton Expecting First Child


Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are expecting their first child, the palace announced today.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the palace said in a statement today. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."

According to the papers, Charles hated the name Kate, and pushed her to reclaim her name as 'Catherine' (since they were impaling each other's crests, etc). But she's been known to the press as Kate for the time she's been with Prince William, you know? Also, it's easier to call her Kate than spell out Catherine.
