Chris Evans' 'A Many Splintered Things' calls for donations

The producers of A Many Splintered Things are calling for the generous donations of movie-goers who would like to see films that are more original than your generic, blockbuster Hollywood film.

Chris Evans signed on as the lead for the self-proclaimed “anti-romantic comedy” also starring Aubrey Plaza, Michelle Monaghan, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace, Luke Wilson and more.

The filmmakers of the A Many Splintered Thing have launched a donation campaign to raise $50,000 by next year January 26 in order to fund the film. Individuals can donate any amount from $5 all the way up to $10,000. Every donation comes with a perk depending on how much you donate.

Awards for donations accumulate the more you donate and production for the film has already gone underway.

Not sure why they need donations? Seems a very small amount to be short of when films tend to cost millions... even some indie films.
