It's my housemate's birthday today and her best friend who is on her year abroad in NL has flown back to the UK for the celebrations!

Tomorrow night we're going on a champagne cruise around the Bristol harbourside and then going out to the club where I work (free entry yessss)

It's payday, found out that I'll be transferring to the day shift at the beginning of next month, and graduation looks more in view for me than it did before. I would be happy but...I tried to come out to my family earlier this month and now after it's finally settled in some people's minds they think that it's due to me having unresolved issues and are telling me to go see a therapist.

I tried to trim my dog's toenails today, he was not having it. But I'm worried because one of his nails is curling into the pad of his foot.

Same with my cat, ugh. Her nails are getting way too long. She was fine when the vet did it, but I want her to get used to me doing it as a kitten so I can do it her whole life no problem.

Not sure how you cut them but my vet recommended that I hold my dog under my arm like I'm carrying her and clip her nails that way instead of trying to sit in front if her and do it since they will pull away.

Does anyone get really sleepy when they drink?

I don't drink much but when i had my first a few yrs ago, it was a mixture of Smirnoff Whipped vodka and one of these glass Starbucks coffees.

I had maybe like a size of the Starbucks bottle but fell asleep an hour later after my roommates and I tried watching a movie lol and felt fine in the morning. I know alcohol is a downer but wth?

I get really tired when I have wine otherwise I'm fine. Even a tiny glass of it makes me want to take a 9 hour nap.

The combo of the alcohol and the dairy would probably negate the caffeine, for me.

If I have one drink, I tend to get sleepy. I need more than one to offset the sleepiness.

It doesn't make me so sleepy I could fall asleep right away, but it helps me sleep if I drink after dinner.

I randomly woke up at like four in the morning and couldn't fall back asleep, then finally as I was dozing off again at like seven, my dog jumped on my face. Then I broke a glass full of orange juice. It's going to be one of those days...

and it's ~finals time, so every one is in a stressed out, pissy mood (including me)
